Well, now you will find out that you struck out much faster, so you have that going for you.

I agree -- this won't be enough for those that distrust Obama because he is black and therefore like those other irksome folks like JJ and AS to suddenly come over to his side.

Great news! hopefully this will mean a SIXTH residency show

I saw this today while wide awake in the middle of the night. The one photo of the single family standing close to the tracks (husband, wife and 4 kids) is particularly evocative, as is one later on in the show of a train platform, showing a large crowd. At the front of the crowd are two mothers holding sleeping young children (toddlers probably, or younger). I couldn't help but think that now those kids are in their 40s.

I heard on NPR that as part of this new timetable thingy that the Iraqi government wants, is that they want to limit the ability for the US to unilaterally conduct military operations there both with the military and so called contractors. This is not making the administration happy -- and frankly makes the argument for O-I-L as being the real reason that we are there (or at least why we remain there).

I have a Blackberry now since that's the only email service that corporate will allow corporate emails on. Several of my family members have iPhones and I wish I did, mainly for the browser. Browsing Web sites on (this) Blackberry sucks.

While we are on the subject, I rarely use bccs in general. There is just something underhanded about it, so I just forward whatever it is that I sent to the person(s) that I would have bcced. Dumb, I know, but that's what I do.

I looked pretty carefully and I couldn't find another new election thread. If I missed it, go ahead and merge this one. Anyway, interesting article about some conservative republicans going Obama's way

I hate people who, when presented more information that is different than what they had thought, change their minds. We definitely don't need anyone who thinks.

I think he would have though those actions to be mutinous -- so it almost never would have happened unless he knew what he knows now. Remember, he was lied to along with the rest of us.

His mind-set was certainly military, not civilian. This had to have some bearing on him, especially where war was concerned. At any rate, I don't believe he belongs in the neocon hall of shame with Perl, Wolfowitz, Cheney etc. Not to mention Rumsfeld.
-
Remember -- he was a military guy duty-bound to follow the word of his commander-in-chief. This overriding principle eventually was his undoing on this matter. He must have been extremely conflicted.

I echo this -- many many congrats to the Kotches!

Some folks are born made to wave the flag, Ooh, they're red, white and blue. And when the band plays "Hail to the chief", Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no, Yeah! Some folks are born silver spoon in hand, Lord, don't they help themselves, oh. But when the taxman comes to the door, Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no. We may not let you in the country, but if you are here by some fluke then we will surely want to put you in our army! -
