  1. Both Jake and I liked it greatly -- great story, lifelike scenes of Paris, and fun watching the cooking. Though with the recent (real) mouse infestation in our kitchen, I think it had an impact on my dream last night about finding rats in my underwear drawer -- swear to cod. Here's my Pixar rankings: 1. Toy Story 2. Monster's Inc 3. Ratatouille 4. Toy Story 2 (strictly for Sarah McG's song -- makes me cry every time) 5. Finding Nemo 6. Bug's Life 7. The Incredibles (slept through most of it -- BORING) NA Cars (didn't see) And James Remar -- a bad boy you gotta
  2. I am hoping to go even though its the middle of the week. Will there be a Solace sighting?
  3. When I get my new PC I will re-up them and post the link.
  4. Dude! Why didn't I know this? And you are in Chicago now??
  5. Chris, I just remember that goofy grin on your face on that Saturday night in March. Hope you are having as good a time tonight as then (though you are likely not in as good a company )
  6. He's complaining cause he's a used car salesman lawyer. I'm the used car salesman
  7. When I saw some of the recent pics, I thought "Damn, Jeff needs to get some new shoes -- those look so old." True story.
  8. I had totally forgotten about that. Old age has its perks Also, "brand loyalty" only means something when the "brand" or product delivers on it's promise (whatever that promise may mean to you). I am not loyal to VW; Iwill never buy another one based on a bad experience, so I couldn't care less who they have as a soundtrack.
  9. Last night I was at the Museum of Broadcast Communication's 75th anniversary of FDRs acceptance speech at the Auditorium. Robert Vaughn did a reenactment of the speech, which was electrifying. I was reminded of Wilco (since I was at the Auditorium last to see them) and this thread (due to his New Deal and corporate responsibility) numerous times, but no more pointedly than when Bruce Dumont quoted Mo Udall: "Everything has been said, but not everyone has said it."
  10. Sorry, couldn't resist. This post was just too juicy. Really. This is interesting in that it took Wilco's music appearing in a commercial to compel you to join VC? You have nothing else of value to say otherwise? What are you comparing "this sellout" to? I bet the band didn't know that their music has "played a major role in your life", which to you meant that they couldn't do what they wanted to with their own songs. I certainly didn't know that (since you only just joined to bitch).
  11. There are two threads totalling about 100 pages further down within this "Just a Fan" forum, if you look for them. I would post the links but it's too easy to find them. They are both locked. One was started by srmt, better known as Sue Tweedy. I suggest reading some/all of the posts in them before continuing here. There has been a lot of ground covered, and much of it is thoughtful discourse.
  12. Nice review. I love the term "freshly considered". It is dead-on and what keeps me and (most of us, I'll wager) coming back for more.
  13. I am glad that Wilco makes their own decisions how their sets are structured.
  14. I FINALLY got one yesterday. Can't wait to start DLing new torrents when my PC arrives next week
  15. I had lunch about 3 weeks ago at that cute little italian deli across from the WWE HQ. True story.
  16. haha Interesting, though I would probably not do that association during a live show. There is too much going on. I can definitely see associating while listening to the record.
  17. This is 100% true and the major tenet of niche marketing. If you recall the "Snapple" craze in the late 90s (I think it was then), they exploited a niche that they found for fun, easy to drink, mostly natural beverages. There are a million more examples of it. The product cycle is niche -> mainstream (market acceptance) -> consolidation -> niche. Each consolidation cycle is followed by more niches to be started/exploited. Exactly. I choose not to watch shows that upset me. Same for TV commercials. I found the violence-filled ads for some horrible movie during NFL games far m
  18. That's some bitchin' spinning side kick my friend.

This is the correct outlook. If there does happen to be some reason that the seats were given to some other people that are "connected" or whatever, be patient and you never know -- good karma may be heading your way
