  1. Doubtful because Wilco has a defined stage setup, AND the shows were being filmed and any setup differences would ruin the DVD continuity. It's probably due to how they mixed the tracks afterwards...
  2. Cool - I love Kimock's playing. Used to go see Zero in SF when that band was still together... will check out his forum. Thanks for the tip.
  3. I've got it at home... If I can remember to bring it in tomorrow I'll post it.
  4. Good - there's hope for me yet. Did you try any of the instructional DVDs/books, or just perservere on your own?
  5. Yeah, that sounds right. I'm just happy about getting notes right, don't worry that much about the correct octave
  6. volume pedal + reverb = awesome. Now I just have to figure out how to effectively block the unwanted strings and I'll be set
  7. The actual notes are G D B G A B match them up with this diagram and you'll have your harmonica tab http://users.ez-net.com/~snowycreek/harp3.htm Or, where B=blow and D=draw... 7B 6B 5B 4B 4D 5B - pretty simple
  8. I stand corrected - serves me right for posting without actually playing the thing. The description on the Calvia site said semiweighted keys, so maybe I'm only half wrong
  9. You can tell on the Walken video from ACL that he is playing in open G, or at least the top 4 strings are the same as open G. I hope some more info surfaces... trying to learn this darn instrument myself.
  10. Nord Electro is about $1200 US and has all that.
  11. Protools? Sorry, dont realyl have experience with this sort of stuff. But what I really want to do is sample some of the Comet project stuff which appears on the Alpha Romeo Tango compelation - I just have to figur eout how to play it bac without spending an arm and a leg on equipment.
  12. Is this always done with an acoustic, or are there instances of electric guitars with Nashville tuning?
  13. Looks awsome - can't wait to try it! It was those pre-bend-and-release notes that made my think about the whammy bar (just anotherway to shift the pitch down)
  14. Not sure if Haley Bonar has been posted, but who cares - here she is anyway. Saw her at Martyrs a year or so ago - absolutely enchanting.

  16. I thought the "new" version of Sunken Treasure was in E (Drop D capo 2)...?
  17. Listened to it again, you're absolutely right. There are two guitars, an I think one is slightly out of tune with the other during some parts (you can hear the beat frequencies) On the last phrase they're playing different lines - I'd love to see what you have for the solo.
  18. Are you saying there are two guitars playing the solo live?
  19. You think you can show us how you're doing it? I haven't been able to translate the chords into something on the piano that really sounds like the right way. Here's what I do for the solo - I think you need a whammy bar to do it right, since I don't have one, I'm going for something close if not perfectly the same. (Instead of bending up to the note as I do., I think Tweedy is hitting the note and detuning it down with the whammy bar)There's another version posted in the archives that is very similar. ----------------------11b13--b15---17--17b18b17-------- -13b15-----------------------
  20. I meant something like this www.loooper.com
  21. I dont think you're going to find anything analog that will work as a phrase sampler (unless your phrase is under a half second or so) The Line 6 is supposed to be very noisy, though I hear it's good for looping. You might want to check out the Boss DD-20 or the Digitech JamMan.
  22. I guess that would make a difference - I find I bend a lot, and with 11s anything below the 5th fret is a major challenge (hence 10's on the Tele). Have you ever tried flatwounds?
  23. If you're trying to get rid of noise, a Line 6 delay might not be the best option... Can't you put the Boomerang into a true bypass loop?
  24. 12's on the electric? Dang... I use D'addario XL 11's on the Les Paul, 10's on the Telecaster Dean Markley C6 pedal steel set (strings 2-7) for the 6-sting lap steel Haven't changed strings on my acoustic in over a year, I think they were Martin's of some sort
