this is the wax from the actual candle. the wax from your ear should be stuck to the candle wax and is beige-colored and powdery - when the smoke breaks it down, it kind of vaporizes it. i hope you don't get a cold.

i had this done professionally a few weeks ago (and for not much more money than the candles cost at a store, apparently). it felt cool at the time, and it was fascinating to see how much freaking wax i had, but something about it didn't feel very natural. it dried up my sinuses and i got a nasty cold a couple days later. coincidence? not sure yet if i'll try it again.

i am here! after a summer of flying back and forth across the country for various reasons, and a beach vacation last week, i've finally settled into our new place in williamsburg - mecca for the scarf-wearing, trust-funded, latte sipping freelance brigade. in the near future i plan to spend my time denying the inevitability of becoming broke and looking for decent employment. so exciting! as my old monkey loving friend would say. come visit, bring me food and cats.

i'm not even close to saying that - i agree with caliber that it's the fault of the prosecuter and the accuser - but i did say that more than anything i'm concerned for future victims. even though the percentage of false accusations is the same for rape as it is for any other felony (and it's small, at that), somehow people are always so quick to assume the girl is lying, and a case like this only reinforces that notion - which is harmful to everyone. i'll give you that, but i do think there are plenty more things to be outraged about in this world than whether or not these dudes will ev

personally i'm more worried about the thousands of sexual assault survivors who will be blamed or won't be believed as a direct result of this case. yes, the whole thing is an injustice, but theirs is only a part of it.
