This was easily one of the best Wilco shows I've ever seen. They played a lengthy show, filled with surprises. Jazzy beat poetry, pork pie wearing, Tropicana living era: Small Change, if only for Bad Liver and a Broken Heart, and Tom Traubert's Blues Heart of Saturday Night Nighthawks at the Diner (sometimes considered one of the worst received, and just plain worst live records. I like it for Big Joe and Phantom 309. Junkyard maestro, playing on hubcaps, cavorting around on every other Jim Jarmusch film set era: You could pick any record from the Island-Anti catalogs, and be hard pressed to a find a one that isn't wonderful. Old 97's, Ween, Rage Against the Machine. Those few come to mind in regards to videotaping. You have to have the cojones to ask.

Saw/recorded the entire Coachella set. Also got the Cure, which was amazing as well. Paul was phenomenal. Which is more than most can say about Morrissey who was very much the whiny pasty Brit he's always been.

My friend works for the Orpheum and Wilco was on the schedule to play the Pine Amphitheater in Flag but things fell through. I live in Vegas but go to Flag occasionally as I'm sort of from there. I was planning on going to Tuscon, but I'm not now.

I guess they're skipping over Flagstaff but I got my Las Vegas tickets today. Anyone else going?

They're playing Vegas and Flagstaff? Woah nelly!!!! Jeff never seemed to fond of Las Vegas, calling it "the last great American city", with enough sarcasm to choke a horse. But hey, they're coming back! Flagstaff hasn't been announced yet, but it's supposedly been booked. Can't wait.

Went to both shows and both were incredible. I've waited 10 years to see him and seeing him two days in a row definitely made up for the wait. I thought his playing "Falling Down" yesterday might have been in response to the Scarlett single out now, but maybe not. Fans of the pre-Swordfish records might be disappointed as he tends to gravitate more towards the later portion of his career, but either way, his shows are fantastic.

It was Leroy as I remember it not being a very good lead as leads go. I saw them 4 times on that tour and thought that at every show.

I would love to have seen Wilco during the Bennett/Coomer era. But the shows I've seen since have all been great, and Nels is a great addition to the band.

Would CA, NV, or AZ happen to be on that list?

Ken Coomer (Wilco's first drummer), was selling his drums that he used while recording "Being There" on ebay awhile ago.

Seen the Pogues twice on the past 2 tours and they were excellent both times, though the energy level seemed to run much higher at the reunion shows. My only gripe would be that Phillip is sitting out and thus, no Thousands are Sailing. Regardless, it's a riotous show.

Has this show been posted anywhere yet? Thanks to all the tapers for their efforts, by the way.

Wham-Wake me up before you go go

I saw Joe about 6 months before he passed, and I'm thankful I did. His music sounds so vibrant and relevant today as it did 10 years ago when I started listening to him. His solo work was intriguing, fresh, and never bordered on being a Clash-retread. I miss the guy, and it sounds strange when people say something to that effect having never actually met him. But I suppose I miss his potential output, the shows he never played, and his character. He was the real deal.

Hey, attack the Clash's records all you want, but Coda and Presence ain't so hot either.

My friend went to this show, and to hear him talk about it it was the second coming. It's a nice thing that they did for charity, but how about being charitable to their own legacy by not raping it. I went to the Police and it was not worth 150. A simple, crass, yet no punch-pulling affair. A simple cash in. It goes back to what Bill Hicks said, "How much money is enough?". That's why I love bands with principles (The Clash, Pink Floyd, WILCO, REM). I saw Roger Waters for $50, sans The Floyd, and it was excellent.
