When did His Holiness get prison tats? Did I miss something?
-
At least it's moving at a similar pace to recent RTTs.....

That and the fact that it's Jann Wenner and a handful of his staff that selects the bands. And War are "pissed" about not "making it in?" That's funny. What's to make? It's Jann and a few cronies deciding, it's not like it's a competition based on anything valid.

Two things I found interesting in the Blagojevitch sentencing: 1. He [blago's atty] also points out that the maximum penalty in Illinois for reckless homicide is 14 years. Adam believes the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals will have to take a good look at whether the Blagojevich sentence was justified. 2. After the sentencing hearing Wednesday, Rod Blagojevich signed autographs outside his Ravenswood Manor home. Many people speaking with ABC7 said they did not like that and that Blagojevich "still just doesn't get it." http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=8459506

I'd be nailing my gal while the 2004 ALCS plays on the tv (volume off) and a nice 73' China->Rider screams in the background and the lobster with drawn butter and ice cold Heinekens rest on the luxury hotel- room coffee table awaiting my return. That or looking up the name Mark E. Smith on Google.....

Shouldn't they be thongs and tank -top half shirts, then?

It could be argued, reasonably, that most MLB players are actually underpaid. But that's another issue....

Not a member but enjoyed the interview with Norton Juster (author of The Phantom Tollbooth, which I'm currently reading to my students) on the drive home yesterday....

Even a few months earlier.... My favorite '73 shows are from Nov/Dec when Donna was out of the line up being pregnant.

Getting Hitched! (elope or no?) What was your wedding like?
Lammycat replied to SarahC's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I had a blast at my wedding. Had great friends, beer, a great band, etc. In hind sight, though, it has to be chalked up to a waste of money since we divorced 8 years and 3 kids later. I'd elope. -
Is this the new RTT?! I'm confused. I thought the " 'Ummm...' forum gone" thread was the new RTT but now it's locked.

Oh yeah? Let's see if I can name one song off it...... see?

The Band are Canadian.
-
Literally, just about. Literally.
-
Seriously? I'm assuming, like me, a lot of people still haven't even gotten around to listening to it yet.
-
Honestly, it doesn't matter what I think, but what the facts point to. Since Buddy Holly and the Crickets aren't an option, it falls on the GD.

This poll is unpossible.

A niche group that evoked comment and praise from the sitting president when it's key member died. A group that spawned and influenced countless other bands, including a lot of the post-Punk bands. A group that, literally, evoked and combined just about every form of "American" music variation, at one time or another, throughout it's career. But I see your point: "jam" bands suck.

Bleedorange obviously hates true American music.
-
Both of the last 2 guesses are wrong, btw.

I've been a SOx fan equally as long (longer) and don't really get where you're coming from. You would actually stop "liking" the Sox if Valentine were to become manager? Whatever your beef with Valentine is (lack of respect due to what?), he's still just a piece of the puzzle. You'd disregard the organization simply because they thought he'd be the best fit at this time? Yoinks.
-
No there is definitely a 100% answer and that's the answer I gave. However, had Chicago been on the list it'd have been close. Also, how come Bruce Springsteen or Petty, or Dylan aren't on the list?
-
Valentine has mellowed, imo.
-
I like Valentine. Take him over Lamont to manage BOS.....
