I'll be catching JGB tomorrow night and/or Friday. They play out here a ton (usually NYE, too). Have caught them many times and then never fail. re: Furthur. The shows I caught last spring were fantastic. I (still) never understand the GD cover band comments. They're playing GD tunes for chrissakes! They have new tunes, as well, plus covers by other bands. It is what it is. Comparing it to GD is futile. I'll be catching the Red Rocks shows. I'm just looking for a decent night of music, some dancing, and some good times hanging with my gal and friends.

How has it been determined that he actually was trying to off himself? Was there a suicide noteDid he swan dive onto the top of his head? Did he proclaim he wanted to end his life before jumping the 20 ft? Sounds like a drunken stage-dive/idiocy gone bad.

As long as he doesn't go from Detroit to Boston he can look like Col. Sanders for all I care.

Another vote "for" By Your Side. There are 1-2 songs I could do without but I find it a solid album. The opening track could've been on Appetite for Destruction.

How's this? They have had a ridiculous amount of injuries. Ellsbury has sat out about 100 games because of the ribs thing, was given a healthy bill to play, and collided with another player. How's the togetherness of the organization figure into this? If anything, it could be questioned if Pedroia was sent back too prematurely. But really, what a mess it's been this season. I don't fault the running of the business/organization for the injuries, though.....

They're like the Brett Favre of "Rock."

Is this the same league I was in last year? If so, I want in but can't access from work....

Happy belated, Sir Stewart. If that's even your real name....

Murderers, Gunslingers, Outlaws, & Prison Songs
Lammycat replied to Terrapin Ben's topic in Someone Else's Song
Most any tune off of Dylan's Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid album, particularly "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," " Main Title Theme (Billy)," " Cantina Theme," " and "Billy 4" or "Billy 7" ( I prefer "Billy 4"). -
Ha! I remember those fondly. Certainly helped with the long line problem....

Boulder has had the green bikes for over 15 years. They're free and you just grab one and leave it wherever around town. Boulder has also been referred to as The People's Republic of Boulder. The red bikes of Denver are cheap rentals. Green=free; red=United Nations propaganda. Hickenlooper's ok by me. Good guy and does a lot to help make the City "green." Even though he opposed the weed initiative a few years ago, he instructed local law to treat it as the lowest of priorities in the city. Plus, he helped found one of the city's first microbreweries, Wynkoop brewery.

I read the excerpt you posted. I'd be interested in more.

Wanted to share this: Dead Play Beatles (actually includes P&F, Dead, JGB). Pretty decent mix, particularly the JGB "I Want To Tell You" and the "All Too Much" from GD '95. Always liked that one a lot. http://www.archive.org/serve/gd_DeadPlayBeatles/gd_DeadPlayBeatles.wma

For the Lp enthusiasts: http://store.dead.ne...dn/080210/text1 ed. Don't know why it says "available for the first time in over 40 yrs." I had Aoxomoxoa on Lp, as well as American Beauty and the first one. Maybe referring to the first one.

Scarlet->Touch-> Mr. fantasy openeed the second set from 6/29/84. I caught the '88 Buckeye show and remember it being solid but nothing fantastic. The band was in good spirits w/ Hornsby up there for the 2 tunes.
