  1. Not "at least once," the first time she asks. That will nip any similarly ensuing questions in the bud. Enjoy your weekend.
  2. I don't mind the stories either and that wasn't my point a few pages back.
  3. A little foprm column A, a little from column B. And I'll throw in column c: Francona's managing. Tito made some very poor managerial decisions in the series (Varitek, who's been wretched at the plate of late batting in the 9th?, Lowell sent to steal 2nd?, etc.) and I think that's part of it, too. Of course, Manny has been in a slump, Ortiz is out, and middle relief pitching has choked a few times. The Rays have "it" going for them right now and it's evident in their level of play. I enjoyed watching the series, as much as I was disappointed at the outcome, and in a weird way feel kind
  4. Actually, the DRays have been a thorn in the side of BOS for awhile now, not just this season. BOS has struggled/battled plenty with them the last five years or so, with the Rays coming up on the winning end a good deal. They haven't been a threat, per se, for a playoff spot, but for whatever reason they've been a stumbling block. I like the rivalry too. That doesn't take away my enjoyment of a BOS/NYY series like the 4-game one starting tonight, regardless of how many people are sick of it.
  5. Pretty funny. Hey, they just swept the WS champs.
  6. Again with the DRays! Man, they're on it.
  7. ^ I remember the sun broke and the rain stopped just as "Dancin'" kicked things off... ed. BTW, it was 20 years ago today that the GD played the first of two fantastic shows in Oxford Maine at some racetrack. Little Feat opened. Very mellow scene and some nice sets both nights. Ah, the gool ol' days....
  8. Welp. TB sure looks good. Their pitching is right up there. Fear the DRays. This is the first year I can remember not caring to switch over to check the score of NYY games during BOS game commercials yet the DRays now cloud my brain.
  9. I like ash trays. Hand-made clay ones. For my ashes.
  10. But after all, John Adams did HAVE SEX. Probably silly sex, too. I thought it was a decent series, yet Giamatti reminded me too much, in John Adams' later years, of Chris Elliot's character in There's Something About Mary when he gets all itchy during his obsession with Mary.
  11. Ahem. And the 3rd, 4th, and 5th?!
  12. I can play "Not Fade Away" on my rope-tuned djembe! Beyond that....
  13. If it's any consolation, Garcia was in very poor health and most of the shows towards the end were really quite weak/lame. I gave away tix to the second night at the Meadowlands after the first night show that June it was so depressing.
  14. I listened to all of Who's Next on the way in to work this a.m. Still an amazingly consistent album.
  15. Hey, I'm certainly in the minority here with my opinion on the film. Again, it wasn't bad in my eyes, it just fell short of the mark that I expect from Pixar films. It had it's moments yet I found myself wanting it to end about 30 minutes in.
  16. I could be wrong but I have a hunch that that's a painting. Possibly a print of one at that.
  17. I caught it yesterday and it was one of my least favorites of the Pixar films, I think. It was entertaining to a degree and had a few funny moments, but overall was predictable and overly sentimental/mushy for my taste. My kids loved it, though, so it was a good day.
  18. The AL seemed to have beaten up on the NL, overall, once again.
  19. "A Vote for Lammy is a Vote for Idiocy"
  20. That's cool. "Other" implied to me that it's an "other" candidate. I've gotcha, though. I'd like to re-vote in this poll now, though.
  21. There should be a "no one" option for who to vote for.
  22. Someone who saw Hendrix simply because he was alive and had the $5 to go see him shouldn't be a big deal, was my point. Especially if Hendrix was too high to play.
