  1. So how is a top 5 player of an era overrrated? Anyway...the BoSox never even considered getting Bonds with Ortiz out, because Bonds is currently an extremely one-dimentional player.
  2. And, only Bonds, Sosa, and Ruth got to 600 in fewer games. Two of those are suspect, anyway. Had it not been for an injury-plagued career....
  3. Gah! I meant to say LRP is the one without a glitch from beginning to end, not Document. Document is patchy, but very good though.
  4. Life's Rich Pageant, followed closely by Document. I still get excited popping on Document. It's good from opening to closing notes.
  5. Save for if Ed Asner decides to show tonight. Best of luck. You'll be great.
  6. I haven't heard a note these folks have played but have heard very good things about them. I'm keeping my ear to the ground on them....
  7. Ditto. Still an above-average fielder, as well. I'm sure he'd like to play more (and will play regularly with Ortiz out for a spell and assuming he's appealing his suspension) and is still a candidate to be shipped elsewhere. I'd imagine he's quite aware of that and is probably even stepping it up a hair in lieu of that (see: hard slide/brawl v. TB). The Chris Carter experiment didn't last long. Hello (again) Brandon Moss!
  8. "Goodbye," Steve Earle "16 days," Whiskeytown "Moonlight Mile," Stones
  9. True, but Coco faired pretty well on his own: avoided the punch (Rope-a -Dope, anyone?), landed several before beingh taken down from behind, took a bunch of sucker punches from Gomes, et al., and still managed to scamper out of the bottomk of the scrum, standing and alert. Not bad.
  10. Sweet pic: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...rays_brawl?pg=4
  11. How does Gomes stay in the game after that?
  12. 2014, HOF, no? Just nit-picking here. That would be very cool whichever year it is.
  13. He does golf pretty well, I've heard. I believe you need to be 50 to get on the tour, though. Chances that he resumes his career next year? Slim. No way ATL re-signs him. A few career stats: 210-147 (reg. season), 154 saves, 3.26 ERA. Very impressive. And yeah, Smoltz is an easy guy to like/root for. Too bad he had to go out like this. ed. I'm thinking of the Senior's Tour. Either way, he'll be golfing instead of throwing MLB pitches from here on out, most likely.
  14. Smoltz out with season-ending surgery. Has he pitched his last MLB pitch? http://www.ajc.com/braves/content/sports/b...moltz_0605.html
  15. Absolutely. This is how I was taught to make it from my dad, who's mom taught him, etc, etc. I forego the onions, though. And we're of Irish lineage.
  16. Are they the same? Will you be purchasing the European version, too? Middle Eastern? Antilles?
  17. $7/ bottle from the store? Yikes. That's kind of ridiculous.
  18. "Winning with Flowers" is very catchy. Nice tune, Martin.
  19. Don't know if it's been mentioned or even if it's apt for the category here, but The Harder They Come, starring Jimmy Cliff, is still worth viewing, even if it is a little dated. Soundtrack is still excellent, too.
  20. Good call, jgp. Another in this vein that i thought was good is American Hardcore. An absolute waste of time. A lot of great ones mentioned. GD have a bunch of just whole concerts that I enjoy a lot, too. The Phish IT dvd of a show/documentary was pretty cool, too. I know they've got a bunch of live ones, too.
  21. No, in Australia they spin the cds counter-clockwise. Anyway, this sounds a little gimmicky to me. Is it the out takes that most of us already have or just someone messing with the masters? Is it even legitimate in terms of being band sanctioned? ed. Oh, "Enhanced." That must mean nothing.
  22. That's a cool idea, PT. Must be a fun place to work on Friday afternoons. I'd like to try that Hennepin trappist. I've been drinking the Mothership Wit, too, for the last few months. Excellent wheat beer. Crisp, light. Great for summer. Certified organic, too!
  23. Chris Carter called up, Jeff Bailey sent down: http://www.beloblog.com/ProJo_Blogs/SoxBlo...x_recall_1.html
