  1. Beginning this: Finishing this: And getting set to start this:
  2. It's been rumored for years that he was older than he claimed. Inetersting that he wants to come clean not long after being implicated in the Mitchell Report, though.
  3. Save my obvious bias, I agree. A good match up is a good match up. Everyone's got their own team to root for. I don't think because "my" team has kicked ass for the past 4 years they are any less deserving.
  4. Folks can be sick of Yankees/Red Sox all they want. It won't change programming. Programming=viewership/money and both teams still draw the most The "rivalry" has been played to death. It's old. Stale. The media make a lot more of it than the fans do at this point. Heck, I'm sick of it and have been since that sweet 2004 season. Regardless, it'll play on like the bullshit "Curse" has and the knobs that still claim Ruth was sold because Frazee was broke and wanted to produce a show tune. Ignorance ain't bliss but it sells.
  5. That's up there as one of my favorite tracks on KW, actually. Overall, a decent album. Porno for Pyros' Good God's Urge has a few nice tracks, too.
  6. In a vat of Crisco and sardines wrestling match: DeNiro. In a a pickle-eating contest: Pacino.
  7. I love this story: Ortiz text-messaged Francona the other day after he heard Francona might be inclined to giving Papi another night off due to his horrendous slump. Papi texts (among other things) "put me in, bitch." http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/basebal...&position=4
  8. Although I don't know much about them, Black Sabbath certainly deserves credit as pioneers. I'd also include Led Zeppelin in the same boat as Metal pioneers (along with Deep Purple, probably). For me it doesn't get better than LZ, though. I do appreciate and like Motorhead, as well.
  9. Will Ferrell as the Bad Doctor (SNL): http://www.jibjab.com/view/137029
  10. I'll tell you, though: both Wang and Bucholtz are pitching a nice game.
  11. Unfortunately, they won't be on national t.v. tonight, though you'll probably get the Fox game tomorrow and certainly the ESPN Sunday night game. Pace yourself, now.
  12. For bobbob and MrRain, tonight's line-ups for the NYY/BOS game. Field conditions may be pretty wet. BOS 1. Coco Crisp, CF 2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. Manny Ramirez, LF 5. Kevin Youkilis, 3B 6. J.D. Drew, RF 7. Jason Varitek, C 8. Sean Casey, 1B 9. Julio Lugo, SS P Clay Buchholz NYY 1. Melky Cabrera, CF 2. Robinson Cano, 2B 3. Bobby Abreu, RF 4. Alex Rodriguez, 3B 5. Hideki Matsui, LF 6. Jorge Posada, DH 7. Jason Giambi, 1B 8. Jose Molina, C 9. Alberto Gonzalez, SS P Chien-Ming Wang
  13. I own no Byrds music at this time. I don't really dislike it, but it comes off as overly sentimental and light-Rock to me. Just my ears, though.
  14. I havn'e seen the list nor do I know the people/company/magazine putting it out but two fairly recent ones spring to mind: SNL with Will Ferrell as the doctor who is telling the couple he's misplaced their baby at a Bodeans concert... ... and another SNL skit with Ferrell when he shows up to the office meeting as a "patriot" wearing a half-shirt and US flag -print runners shorts pulled high in the crotch.
  15. That's something you'll have to live with.
  16. Bon Jovi has never kicked ass in his life.
  17. I really like a lot of their studio stuff, actually: Burgers, Phosphorescent Rat, America's Choice, Yellow Fever, and Hoppkorv(great consecutive run of studio albums) as well as Splashdown are fantastic albums. Granted the live stuff is glorious, but they shined in the studio, too.
  18. The Doors are one of the most overrated bands ever, imo. I realize a lot of folks like them and I won't make the obligatory comment about every 8th grader going through a Doors ohase (though I suppose I just did) but really, Morrison's drivel for lyrics as mystic poet is a joke. Yes, they had some decent Rock tunes but a lot of their music seems repetitive/redundant and bleakly bland to these ears. The Byrds don't do much for me either, fwiw.
  19. The first one he put out is quite good, the second is decent. Im only have them on cassette but I may just bust them out tonight.
  20. I'm holding out for a Presidential pardon. If it's the last thing Bush ever does.... MJohns was decent but they're all decent at this point, I suppose. No one of them is a great singer/performer and they are pretty much all mediocre (at best) talent. Regardless, you'll hear Michael's crap on the radio soon enough.
  21. Yeah, it's no rumor. The guy looked genuinely shocked.
  22. Feeding the Monster is decent. Mnookin basically had all-access to the Sox for the season.
  23. Hey Ken: not to derail the thread but is Trebek an insufferable tool in real life or does he just play one on t.v.? And, does he smell like Musk?
