  1. A case can be made that Crisp's abilities in CF saved enough runs to balance his wretched offense. It'd be a bit of a stretch but also a fair argument, I think. Regardless, his contract and offensive ineffectiveness merits him being moved from BOS in lieu of Ellsbury
  2. Can't go wrong with most of the '74 Eyes but I'll chime in for a few later Eyes' that spring to mind that should not go unnoticed that pop into mind: 11.5.77- Rochester 2.26.77 Swing auditorium 4.8.78 Jacksonville and there are a few from the 80s and even 90s I'd toss in if making a well-rounded Eyes list.
  3. A great "Easy To Love You" and a stellar "Tom Thumb's" as well (I'm goin' back to Foggy Bottom...").
  4. Wow. Absolutely disagree. Crisp was fantastic last year and is still near, some have said at, the top in fielding the CF position in all of MLB. I don't disagree with BOS probably going with Ellsbury but Crisp still has very solid value as a CF, particularly off the bench as his offensive decline continues.
  5. Not sure if any of you have ever had anal fissure issues before, but Kaz Matsui is out for a spell because of anal fissure problems. Matsui will miss a couple of weeks due to his anal fissure injury. Once the anal fissure deal is repaired Matsui should be good to go and anal fissure-free. Apparently an anal fissure is pretty much the same thing as hemmoroids. Link to Matsui's anal fissure leave of absence; http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5621709.html
  6. I need to retract my earlier statements and agree with an previous poster that Weld is a fine live album. I was referring to the Arc part as the piece I didn't like. My bad.
  7. I probably would have shivved you for an assertion like that.
  8. Thought this would be an apt place to put this: Sax man Martin Fierro passed away yesterday. He played in many GD/the scene of-shoot bands (QMS, Legion of Mary)and was the saxophonist for Zero for 20 years or so: http://www.relix.com/Features/Daily_News/M...0803142784.html
  9. So they should be hitting your area more than other areas because it's a denser population and pricey? C'mon remphish, by living in that area you can not complain about a lack of shows (Wilco/otherwise) and expect to be taken seriously. I think it's neat that they're hitting odd areas where folks who generally have little/select access to them can now have access, is all. They can't play everywhere and all the time and I think they do a decent job of hitting as much of the country (and overseas as well) as they possibly can. NYC shows are generally more expensive because people will pay mo
  10. Oh, the shows from that tour were fantastic. NY and Crazy Horse really dwarfed Sonic Youth. I just don't get into the Arc/Weld stuff as a concept album(s) I guess.
  11. I do like Neil. I just find the Arc/Weld albums excessive in the noise department and not very accessible. I don't think I've listened to them more than 3-4 times since they first came out. Just my take, of course.
  12. You guys always get screwed. Bands should try to hit that market a little harder. It's got potential. Actually, what's it been a year or two?
  13. So you prefer the guitarist that is not noticeable or plays a minor role in the band. That's cool. You prefer the rhythm guitarist and/or no guitar.
  14. The kid playing in the basement next door? I don't get your point, I guess. A lead guitarist should be heard and not seen? Play in the background not the forefront? Play quietly instead of loudly? Play simple chords in lieu of complex ones?
  15. Crisp is an above average CF. Where he kills you is at the plate. He's also been injured on/off for ST.
  16. I used to get a little irked, a bit peeved, slightly wrankled, a tad miffed at shit like this. Not any more though. I'm stoic about it. I just don't care. I guess in a way I'm glad she can earn an honest buck now.
  17. Those are pretty obscure places to play in CO. Interesting. They also overlap Phil & Friends in Denver. Finaglin' time.
  18. One of the best ones ever, for me, is Little Feat, Waiting For Columbus Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.
  19. I'm not real big on Jazz, but: Pat Metheny, particularly w/ Lyle Mays and Sonny Sharrock I enjoy quite a bit. Chick Corea, too.
