Glad no one was hurt. That's some scary horseshit right there.

He was in the Garcia Band for a short spell, too. I've got a show with him and JGB on New Years.

Remember Lamrod, there is no such thing as "bad" press.

Andrew Dice Clay. Or maybe the Avett Bros. Didn't we do this a few months ago? No matter.

I'm surprised by the panning of "Salt of the Earth" by some. Great song, imo.

Sometimes I skip "Stop Breaking Down," "Shake Your Hips," "Ventilator Blues," and 1-2 others, depending on the mood.

"Sloop John B." is a great tune.

I guess I don't think the "good" songs are that good then.

Among several others on the list, I never understood the love for Pet Sounds.

I agree there's some filler on Exile. But, (and it's a big but), the majority of the album is so damn good and strong that the filler can easily be dismissed by most people, myself included. There are tracks I skip over most of the time on it, but overall it's still a great album regardless.

I disagree. The Blues is a genre. It's a genre that spread from black culture and tradition to white culture. I guess I don't see them as trying to rip off anyone. They liked the style of Blues and often played a style of Blues in the early days. No big deal. I will say that it's my least favorite material of theirs, though.

Why? Musicians take from eachother all the time, eh?

It's always difficult to conclude who was "better" in comparing two incredible bands during high points in their careers. It's not an apples/oranges deal but more like comparing a nice Gala apple to a nice Fuji. Both are great in their own way. I love the Who but have had a longer and deeper relationship with the Stones. It also depends on mood, right? In the end though, given a choice between a stack of lps/cds from the Who pile v. the Stines pile, I'd pick the Stones pile most every time.

I'll bet ction remembers this one:

Hey Lou and Leo, remember these suckers?

We got married outdoors in the mountains. We had a guitar and a mandolin guy playing a medley of GD and Folk tunes for the ceremony and a fairly popular Bluegrass band for the reception. I don't recall a first tune, just lots of good music in general.

Right. And you couldn't hide the box like you can a remote when you leave the room for a minute or two.

I was looking for a picture of the old cable channel boxes but couldn't find one. The one with the cord that connected to the t.v. and was the size of a hardcover of War and Peace.
