The NLDS is on TBS. More "Frank" commercials to follow, unfortunately. The ALDS is on Fox, land of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. I'd gladly watch the "Frank" ads over those two douchebags. Besides, Fox will be running some other crappy show's trailer as well, I'd imagine. It wasn't that long ago we were inundated with: "HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY!!!" That was a few years ago and is still etched in my memory. re: Torre. He's done an admiral job as skipper and if he doesn't retire (assuming he is canned) he'll do fine elsehwere. He had a good run with the NYY. Ultimately, I hope he getsc

Steve Earle gets better as the years roll on. His latest album is top notch and the guy just knows how to sing and play. Every time I've seen him the last decade he's been "on," and is always a pleasure to catch live. It's free, too. What the hell, give him a go.

Yeah, I've heard and read nothing but good things about the Rockies the last few weeks, and not just on a local scale. They're the feel-good story right now, making history as most baseball fans happily watch.

I can only assume this is in reference to Ronan Tynan.

Okerjeemer had to work a bit that inning.

Possibly the best by a single band.

Have you ever seen the the mountain range that is the Rockies in person?. Menacing, they are. I kind of like the purple/black/silver combo. The sleeveless shirts need to go, though.

Now DNB, that's another thing.

DMB have been an easy punching bag for a long time. I'm not sure if it's because of the music or the fan base, though. I used to see them in the late 80s in Charlottesville/Roanoke for $5 and they were an excellent live band. Yeah, college days. They've never really advanced their fan base beyond the college crowd. So? I haven't listened to them in a long time but don't mind some of the tunes. It's your basic Pop/Rock with cheesy lyrics and all, but with a jammy twist. I think it's his voice that annoys me after a short while the most. The songs are pretty decent at times, and the playing q

While getting to the post-season is obviously the more difficult task and winning a short series (5 or 7 games) can be easier at times, I disagree that it's basically a coin flip. Different strategies are employed than in the regular season but there are still many factors that can sway the successes of teams in the post-season that have nothing to do with chance but with strategy/managerial decisions/etc.. Can anybody win the WS in the post-season? Of course. And not always the "better" team from the regular season or even on paper. But the implication that it's a crap shoot isn't realistic.

Ahem.

Philly was horrible, which helped make the Rox look better than they probably are. Still, they're riding an incredibly hot streak right now.

I think the D'Backs/Rox series is going to be a lot closer.

Sweet. Looking pretty damn sharp.

Yeah, typically I'm a fan of wind. Probably won't see a lot of balls leave the park tonight if it keeps up. Rockies shouldn't have a problem pounding Moyer, regardless.

Exciting and windy.

I love LF. Their first two are exceptional, and the addition of Paul Berrere and Kenny Gradney solidified them as a great band more so. The first 6 albums, (even up to Down on the Farm, I suppose) are excellent. I haven't followed them much with the post-Lowell stuff (though have seen them a few times) but I gather there's still some decent stuff they've put out since LG.
