  1. It was an invitation-only show. It was also free, I believe. They had a guest list. It was a gift to the fans/members of the website.
  2. It's impossible to forget it (at least for me). It changed the way we view our country. We were essentially invulnerable up until 9/11. We became a fallible nation thereafter and it forced me to re-think how I view being a citizen and how I view our country's "message" to other nations. Also, two of my younger brothers were directly impacted. One was a firefighter working out of a Brooklyn firehouse at the time and lost several members from his company and other companys he was familiar with. He witnessed bodies hitting the ground, etc. and other things he chooses not to mention. He survive
  3. Wha...? I don't think "Hey Jude" has been mentioned, though.
  4. She was from the Appalachia area of N. Carolina and was "discovered" late in life, too. The GD had been covering her tune "Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie" for years and she was known for her unique voice as well as her prowess on the strings. She has a few albums out and also covers a lot of religious, African tradition, and Americana (Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad, Sugaree) tunes.
  5. Dylan is underrated, as are Hebrew National Hot Dogs.

  7. That's not bad stuff. I've been diggin' the Pinot Noir.
  8. A cat that belonged to a housemate in college (3 buddies and myself) had her head accidently stepped on during a party (this is before I knew the cat) and consequently had to hug walls when crossing rooms and do several 360s to reach the food dish front-on. Her name was Shabby and she was quite the crabby little feline. She wouldn't let anybody touch her except the dude she belonged to. I guess I can't fault her for that, though. He was out of town once and I had recently lost a 15 page research paper on the computer (I didn't know you had to hit "save" back in the 80s) and I was steaming ma
  9. In his '95 Saturn, to boot. Now, nothing wrong with Saturns, but I'd think he makes a bit of coin from his flicks. Must be blowin' it all on booze, weed, and somethingorother
  10. Now see, if you had a cat.... Or a gun, I s'pose.
  11. A buddy who used to own a bookstore sent this to me a while back kind of as a joke, as I used to have a thing for Don Knotts. I started reading it last night. Not a bad read, actually, as far as light and fluffy goes:
  12. "Dirty Business"- NRPS "Wharf Rat" -GD "The Core"- Eric Clapton "Jessica," "Ramblin' Man," "Blue Sky"- ABB A second for "Visions of Johanna"
  13. That's because the ingredients are 95%water, 5%camel urine. I'll be drinking some Tangueray and Tabs in about 3 hours.

  16. The profile on him on Animal Planet covers this in detail. Without going into it, I don't have a problem with it after hearing his side of it. It was basically a controlled environment.
  17. Animal Planet has featured a bunch of interview-style potrayals of Irwin all day. A very passionate proponent of conservationism.
  18. My point is simply that Treadwell apparently had some mental issues that drove him to foolishly attempt to survive with creatures he knew nothing about. He was acting moronically. He wasn't educating anybody and he probably did more damage to the bears than good. Pretty much the opposite of what Irwin's intentions seemed to be. Anyway, I enjoyed the man's program and his efforts to share intimate knowledge of some of the animals he studied.
  19. With the slight exception that Steve Irwin was a professional crocodile handler and Timmy Treadwell was a confused and delusional amateur seeking a name for himself.
