True. Keep in mind that when any youngsters on a lower payroll club finish their ( I think) first 6 years and are eligible for free agency those salaries go up, up, up. I'm not sure but i think Papplebon for example gets around 500 or 600K. You can bet when it comes contract time or free agancy that number will be but a faint memory. Any agent worth his salt will get the biggest $$$$ they can. Sad but thats pro sports these days. Those guys will always go to the high bidder....not that I blame them.

ahhhh....as I said I've never read the books thanks for the insight

I've never read the books or anything, but what the frig is the deal with this? I could care less that a character is gay or whatever but does it add anything to the story or the plot? What's the point of this? If Rowling is trying to drum up publicity for the books that seems silly, what have these sold? Millions of copies? Just seems like she is doing this for the sake of doing it. And if you thought people had a problem with these books before ( saying they are evil, full of witchcraft, etc) just wait. There will be a lot of gnashing of teeth and wrining of hands over this. I don't get

punk...... Signed J. Garcia

You could give Mogwai a try, or perhaps Explosions In The Sky. If you like spacey, instrumental driven rock it just might work for you. Any of their albums would be fine to start with.....in my opinion.

Where to start with The Grateful Dead?

Yeah that sucks.......Seems like another crappy decision made. They are really giving the shaft to their hard core fans. I understand they as "The GratefulDead" are no longer and they want to protect their interests, but seriously not letting people rip copies off the tapers section? It really has all gone downhill since Jerry died. I doubt he would have put up with this kind of commercial decision. Of course since he died the Dead as a cash cow touring unit has dwindled away. Guess Bobby, Phil, Mickey, and Billy need to stash away as much as possible. Not knocking anyone for making a living -
Exactly....I have to watch at least twice before I pick up on everything. You notice when John ripped off the paint on the shufflrboard court the numbers in the boxes read out 9-11-14? Hmmmmmmm "not every towel head is erradicated" Lots of little things to notice. I love the friggin' show I know at lot of people don't but I have found myself looking forward to seeing it every Sunday, now it's gone....

I loved the opening scene, with the Dylan song (Series of Dreams). That part where they break through the clouds and you see the water, then John and Shaunie flying across the waves....perfect. Also at the end when Zippy comes back....gave me some goosebumps. I hope they keep this show but sadly I believe they won't.

It seems weird that it has been 12 years.....I was in Lynchburg, TN with my relatives from Scotland visiting the Jack Daniels distillary that day. We were driving back towards Nashville and they were playing all sorts of Dead tunes on the radio (a rarity in these parts). I sorta figured something happened but it hit me like a ton of bricks hearing that Jerry had died. Fucking bummer......I wonder what kind of music he would be into if he were still alive now -
40........ how the hell did that happen?

Ah whattya expect?....Hello the bad finger is the one thats missing. My dad was a middle school principal for like 40 years but he was always cool with stuff unless it was really blatant. He actually likes some of the Dead (mostly American Beauty type songs). Pretty funny considering he was a tough principal. Really old school, suit and tie everyday, and always busting kids for doing stuff. I had to go to his school for 3 years of middle school...

There you go!....I figured you would pick up on that. That shit never fails to crack me up... There is some hillarious banter all through that show

I think there will be a lot of backlash from the public on this one. Like they were saying on Mike and Mike this morning, The Humane Society is going to get behind this and put a lot of pressure on the Falcons corporate sponsors as well as the NFL's corporate sponsors. They will demand that they stop their partnerships, advertisments, etc. What it boils down to is $$$$. The NFL especially is image conscious and they don't want to be loosing any revenue. The Falcons as well will be pressured to do something. It really doesn't matter what the legal outcome is...Vick is going to pay in the court
