Never been, but I live in Nashville (about 50 miles away). You can expect: Long traffic lines on I-24 (though they have gotten better), can be fairly hot and humid in early June so plenty of water, sun block, etc. Can get bad T-storms that time of year as well, so prepare for rain possibly. From what I've heard they are making a lot of improvement to the site ( I believe the organizers actually bought or will buy the property) so it's gotten better in terms of amenities, etc. If you partake of substances keep it cool. They always, ALWAYS have some hick sherrif from the counties along I-24 o

True enough, except when he's at Burger King!

Yup! (the rest of the list is pretty stellar as well)

That's a helluva list right there. Fine choices

Live Dead I can listen to that transition from "Mountains of the Moon" into "Darkstar" over and over and over and over (you get the picture)

Is Prince Little Richard's bastard love child? Kinda spooky resemblence there

Usually play a lot of Dead, but lately been fixated on "Can't keep from talkin".....dunno why. I sit there and strum it as I watch TV and drink beer....it's oddly relaxing

In the post 9/11 world your gonna get this kind of reaction. Stupid and un-necessary but that's the reality. It is kind of funny though (but not for Boston with hundreds of thousands spent on first responders etc) Bet some Turner executives get reamed for this stunt. As the Mooninites would say (to the Turner executives) "Prepare for a pride obliterating bitch slap!"

Yes indeed 2-28-69....I'm sure you check out the website (dead.net) and see his postings every week in the tapers section, says you can email with any specific questions. I guess my first question would be "can I have the key to the vault?"

Yeah! Cow Palace.....Not a huge fan of the mid years (76-85) but a pretty good show. I like the Help>Slipknot! piece on that. I'm sure there will be a release or two a year from Rhino but.......I dunno I really liked getting 3-4 DP's a year you know. And usually really good Primal stuff too I'm pretty hooked on 1966-1974 stuff myself. You get the Fillmore set (all four shows)?

Yeah, and add to the fact that he publicy identified which players he was after so Lowell and Tavarez now know they were on the trading block. May be some bruised egos there.
-
Oh yeah! I figured you might pick up on that, what with your avatar and all sucks no more DP's eh?

Too funny There is a precedent for this though...back in 1975 when the Dead were on hiatus they played a fairly famous show in San Francisco (Great American Music Hall) where they debuted their new album "Blues for Allah". They had a bunch of live crickets miked up for a song or two. Anyways....I don't know why I knew that

Amen, Thats all I'll get to see the Sox on this year I guess. I really liked having the package on the digital cable, living here in Nashville it's the only way to get Sox games (other than the national ESPN, FOX broadcasts.) I don't understand this move. I would guess there are way more subscribers to digital cable than Direct TV. Seems like the market for potential customers would be higher for the cable. I guess they think a million people will now spring for the dish. You would think that MLB would make a lot more money by offering it to both satellite and cable subscribers, but in the g

The only drawback to having a dog is loosing them. My Mom and Dad had to have the family dog put down about two years ago. They called me to tell me about it and I was devestated. I live too far away to have gotten the chance to see her one last time. I'm driving into work just bawling my eyes out. When I get into my office one of my subordinates asks me if I'm OK. I told them what happened and this idiot is like "why are you crying for a dog". Nice huh? Anyway the good thing was that the vet was really nice about everything. Even called up my folks a week or so after to check up on them.

Un-fucking real.........

If you have the time drive (or walk) across the GG bridge. There are some killer spots on the Marin County side to hike around and sit on the cliffs adjacent to the bridge. You get a tremendous view of the SF skyline and all of the bay from there. Also if you have time, drive up / hike Mount Tamalpais (spelling?) beautiful. Most of Marin County is really nice...of course that's only if you want to spend a day outside of the city itself. All of the other suggestions from the other people are dead on...you won't go wrong doing any of those things

Interesting....... I wonder how long it will be until he comes back again. That guy has a habit of doing that.

An amazing show..... There was a lot of banter and audience noise...the guy yelling for Radio King was certainly a frigging idiot. All in all though I thought the crowd was fairly respectful....yeah don't yell your requests during a song, and the "whoo hoos" do get old but I would say the crowd was 98% enthralled and respectful and 2% were acting like asses. Give Glenn some love...he played a really interesting set before Jeff came on. I really liked it, but it seemed like a lot of people were like ok enough of the drums. Anyways I'm sure there will be the usual complaints about th

Well only about what...5-6 weeks 'till pitchers and catchers report? Once the NFL is done it is a bleak time. I can't get into hoops (except at tourney time, and thats only for wagering opportunities), hockey is cool but not as much as football and baseball.

Wow, All you can eat at Dodger Stadium... When is David Wells starting negotiations with the Dodgers?
