  1. Absolutely killer show. Those dudes out on the boats have some serious big brass balls doing that job....a million ways to get all fucked up out there.
  2. All just proves the adage that Keef can not be killed by conventional methods

  4. yeah I replied as well....what the hell only $5...so I have one less beer at the bar tonight EDIT: or maybe not
  5. Curiously I see no mention of AM in this here list. Kinda figured someone would put that in. Though not really a debut (well it is as far as solo material goes) I'll have to add Garcia s/t
  6. Yeah....too bad. That's gonna end up killing the poor guy. He lives for that. I mean what's he gonna do? Steal signs at 88 years old...like he can see that far. I guess they gotta draw a line somewhere though or else you'll have 15 non-players in there. Seems kinda silly but........
  7. Think you nailed it there, especially with the Doors. That might be the greatest ever debut album by anyone. Every track on that is pretty great. I'd like to put the Grateful Dead in there but as you know their albums kind of tend to be not so great (Live Dead, Working Man's and American Beauty being the exceptions). Good list.
  8. I'm kinda wondering why the hell we are importing wheat from China? Seems like we usually export a lot of wheat...why would we be importing it? Or is this because the company that made the food (headquarted in Canada, but plants that made food were in NJ and KS) is importing it? Makes no sense to me at all. I'm sure some bizzare business deal was made and there are all sorts of reasons...but why would the U.S. import Chineese wheat? Or like I said did the Canadian headquarted company import it....not bashing our friends to the north but......
  9. Love that line. I work for a big giganto-corporation and as I leave work everyday (in the late afternoon) I can relate to that........ feel like puking most days

yeah I know....was thinking about after he left when his dad ripped 'em off, but then I would have had to add Keith......only had 5 so I went with the core group

  13. yeah, back in the day the brothers liked to hang out there. I believe the photo on the back of their first album was taken in the cemetery. It's really a beautiful place to check out. Tons of really cool grave markers. Most are quite unique. Apparently there were a lot of European immigrants in Macon way back then and a lot of them were master stonemasons. They created some beautiful carvings. EDIT: fully agree with Dawg, it's a really interesting town and well worth a visit.
  14. Yep! Also check out the Rose Hill Cemetery....very cool place
  15. Coulda sworn it was an explorer that night, dark blue with bullseye circles on it....ah anyways he sucked big time playin with ABB
  16. Wisconsin, Kansas, Georgetown, and Ohio State in final 4 Wisconsin edges Ohio State for the championship That's the view from here......... Of course Niagara can win the play-in game and then mow down everyone in a cinderella upset for the ages......(putting down crack pipe)
  17. Actually Warren was the one rolling his eyes the most if memory serves. They were almost publicly dissing the guy. It was horrible, like I said 3 songs and I left. There's a funny write up about this show in the book 'Midnight Riders" (some ABB biography)
  18. I forget the exact date but back in, I dunno maybe 92 or so I went to see the Allman Brothers at Great Woods (I think they call it the Tweeter Center now) in Massachusetts. Apparently the night before in NY Dickie Betts got busted for beating up his wife or something. Anyways the show starts and out comes Zach Wylde....seriously. Ozzy Osbourne's guitar player. He's got the bullseye patter Gibson explorer and he busting out heavy metal chops on "Statesboro Blues". We were pretty close to the stage and you could actually see other guys in the band rolling their eyes at him. I left after 3 songs.
  19. Yeah, it was funny when they announced they had a team coming here. They got a lot of country superstars to do ads about it and all that. There was one smaller campaign that was sort of giving out a hockey 101 thing and they were trying to promote it as NASCAR on ice....the speed! the spills! you get the idea. I'm a transplant from Mass. so I was pretty excited about them. I actually got a few of my buddies into the game big time (native Nashvillians) and they still really dig it. They get such lousy coverage in the paper though, I don't think any of their sportswriters have more than just
  20. Very true, but the feeling here in Nashvegas is that Leopold (owner) is kind of just tossing that about to scare up some interest. He's looking for a minority owner (hopefully some local) and is trying to get more corporate interest from some of the big companies here. They are going back to calling the arena The Nashville Arena instead of calling it the Gaylord Entertainment Center as Gaylord has backed out of their naming rights deal. All in all it's kind of sad. They get a pretty good gate at every home game and there are a lot of die hard fans. it just sucks though that you have one of t

I'm a huge Dead fan, but I don't see SBS as anything near a jam-band record. Sure there are some longish solos and whatnot but they are more jazz tinged (to my ears) and have a recognizable begining, middle, and end. Listening to the Dead you can go off into a thousand different directions during a jam, but on this album the jams (as they are) are way more anchored than that deep-space stuff the Dead used to do. Or maybe I'm just not doing enough bong hits when I listen to SBS
  22. All I have now is an old, banged up Yamaha FG-400 If I had hit that friggin' mega millions though........ Here is exactly where I would go Gruhn's If any of you ever come to Nashville, this is the place. Amazing stuff there. It'll make ya drool
  23. Nice!!!! What the hell does that guy know anyways....I have a shitty apartment yes, but it's not filled with IKEA crap
