  1. I bought my 4 tix during the Wilcowold presale, and got in right away at 10:00 on the dot. We got 4th row center. Edit to add a link to local paper's write up with a few pics. http://www.oregonlive.com/music/index.ssf/2016/09/wilco_in_portland_photos_review.html#comments
  2. Last night's show was absolutely beautiful. The stripped down, quieter versions of so many old favorites were an unbelievable treat. Totally gorgeous. I especially loved the Summerteeth songs. And Cars Cant Escape is back in rotation! Yay. The stage set was unexpected -- a backdrop of trees and leaves with the band's simple, up-front set up. I am sure it was a quick design plan after Jeff playing the Pickathon Woods Stage . Ok ok, not really...but it was *as close to* the Woods Stage as you could get, while reaping the benefits of the Schniz's acoustics. I was sitting 3 rows behind the gu
  3. My dream has finally come true: Jeff playing at Pickathon. Such a fun set last night on the main stage! Can't wait for tonight's set on the magical Woods Stage.
  4. I like the mellow stuff much more. Like, if they would've played At Dawn from beginning to end I would've been a happy girl. Beautiful & interesting venue by the way, especially the atrium entrance. The steep hill leading up (and down!) to the venue was a killer on my knees!
  5. I went to the 2nd show in San Fran. Too much rock for me. I knew it wasn't going to be my cup of tea when Jim came on stage in a black cape and a flying V!
  6. I don't think this is an accurate statement. There are a few songs. Those birds at the beginning of Summerteeth…originally from something else? Right? [that's just one e.g.)
  7. Glad its working again. I am going to stuff the Portland ballot box with Hell Is Chrome as much as I can. It's been too long.
  8. I can't figure out how to close this. Anywho, I gave my ticket away to a good guy in Boston! So no longer available! Have fun to all you lucky people heading to festival this year. See you in 2 years.
  9. FYI I just cancelled my hotel reservation at The Orchards Hotel, if anyone is still looking for a nice spot to sleep in Williamstown. It's a 3 night reservation, checking in on Thursday. Go get it!
  10. Anyone need one 3-day pass for $125? I can't make it to SSF this year. Actual cost was $124.00 + $9.50 inconvenience fee = $133.50
  11. I am hoping they stop by Edgefield somewhere between August 8-10. They haven't played here for a few years, and I'd much rather see them at Edgefield rather than the Schnitz.
  12. Wow. The last time I saw this band was at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis. Like 1988. How'd they sound?
  13. Holy crap! Jeff totally dropped the ball on this one. Brilliant.
  14. Atticus, Im dying to know if you left that tip on the stage?
  15. My local paper says that Tweedy is playing at the Crystal Ballroom on 3/14. Portland, OR.
  16. Another whirlwind 30 hour kamikaze Wilco trip is on the books. What a great escape. Although I moved away 10 years ago, this city is still sweet home Chicago. Friday night’s setlist was a happy trip down memory lane. I was fortunate enough to stand at “my favorite spot in the entire world”: Front row, between Nels and Jeff. I hadn’t been to a Wilco show since Solid Sound 2013. WHAT??!! The setlist order was nothing short of amazing; a perfect compilation of 30 songs spanning 20 years. Opening with Via Chicago set the tone. The demo version of “Camera” was unfuckingreal. I seriously felt
  17. The Sandoz/Novartis comment is pretty funny. But no, I have no industry conflicts of interest. I am just reminiscing about everyone getting sick at the last run of Wilco shows at The Riv! PS. Virtual Reason yes healthy 27 year olds can get the nasal mist vaccine. PPS. Bleedorange vaccines do not cause autism, and they don't have mercury nor aluminum in them.
  18. [no, i didn't post this in the wrong section. it is wilco related] I was not at the last Wilco Residency…was it in 2007 when I had an infant or something like that? Anyway, I would recommend that you all get your flu vaccines now, because based on the After the Show threads from the first Wilco Residency, I am quite certain that there was a major influenza outbreak at the Riviera over the span of the 5 shows and the following week. It was a perfect epidemiologic outbreak situation: Piles of Wilco fans and friends in close contact for hours (waiting in line, inside the venue, etc etc) during
  19. Hi Sarah, if you still have 3 extras that you need to offload let me know. Im thinking about going to one of the Ryman shows.
  20. That's is the craziest review I've ever read. Here is Ben's profile. Even his profile is in dire need of an editor!--- "I was born in Brooklyn, New York and married a wonderful Canadian Greek girl. I moved to Toronto to make that happen, and have increasingly become used to inferior rye bread. I write about running and music and general lifestyle stories, and enjoy Sunday nights with The Beauties at the Dakota Tavern, although with a little girl on the way who knows how long that will last for.
