  1. I LOVE this record. Bull Black Nova is cool as shit and Sonny Feeling is groovytastic. Yum
  2. Super fun show in one of my favorite cities. The weather was perfect, the crowd was big, and Wilco was having a great time on stage. It was good old sweaty rock n roll. Just how I like it!! We ended up late night at The Maple Leaf Bar, where the Dirty Dozen Brass Band had us sweatin' out the funk, the Abita was cold, and there was a crawfish boil outside. Where else can you have cold beer and crawfish at 4AM on the sidewalk?!

I am still holding out for the addition of Portland or Seattle. Or Vancouver BC! Maybe they can squeeze in a show between Southern Oregon and Red Rocks??? I cant make it to Southern OR on a Tuesday evening! I think it's a 4 hour drive one-way.

  7. Thank you to Sam and Sooz for again hosting a great Chicago weekend. It's always a wonderful time when you have great food, great friends, and great music. Allow me to reflect.. The food on Saturday night itself made for a memorable night. I arrived early enough to have Alison's mac and cheeze this year (yum), and when I told Miles that the big silver box was an ice cream machine, he said "for real?!" with big eyes! And Uyen's cupcakes never disappoint ....but woodgrain?! Move over Martha. This has become a reunion of sorts for many of us who have become close friends over the past 5++ y

  16. You are 100% completely right.
  17. Christy, I would highly recommend that you (AND YOUR KIDDOS) avoid raw milk. Too many infectious diseases can be transmitted from raw milk. I have taken care of children who have been infected with E coli O157H7 or Brucella from consuming raw milk or unpasteurized cheese. A few babies had kidney failure and required dialysis. I took care of one who died. I am not sure why pasteurization seems to be frowned upon in this thread and in the cheese thread. It's extremely weird to me when scientific advances which have clearly saved thousands, probably millions of lives, get bad press. Like
  18. I am curious how pasteurization has led to laziness? Also what "bad things" has pasteurization done to our immune systems? I'm not sure I understand --
  19. man, i'd give my left leg to meet the legendary james p walsh. maybe next summer...
