  1. Hahaha Colbert has got some knee-slapping humor.
  2. I would guess it is. This way of putting out the album is pretty much one of the most brilliant ways to market any album. I need to grab lunch so I can explain later.
  3. Never been a Radiohead maniac, in fact I was never too keen on Radiohead, but this is a good album, regardless of how much all the techo-ish stuff kinda scares me away a little.
  4. When do you think they will be soundchecking? I'm considering skiving class to see it but...
  5. Is there artwork for this yet? I have artwork for all my other albums and if I look at the iPod screen the information looks veryyyy lonely without artwork. edit: doesn't seem to be any, so i thought this was fitting:
  6. 1. the Beatles 2. Wilco 3. Elvis Costello 4. the Clash 5. the Beach Boys 6. Bob Dylan 7. Neil Young 8. Bruce Springsteen 9. Iron & Wine 10. Andrew Bird 11. Van Morrison 12. Marvin Gaye 13. Talking Heads 14. the Police 15. Sigur Ros 16. Rusted Root 17. Sufjan Stevens 18. Final Fantasy 19. Beirut 20. the Flaming Lips Not in any true order, but some.
  7. Tweedy does it in slack G, and it looks like BolivarBalues has more the piano stuff added in too...so I would say the first one. I think video proves it, for the most part.
  8. I can see this: OSU vs. USF in the BCS. That would be great. It would be mostly neutral, given its location. And OSU would be likely to shred USF. Well, that's if OSU and USF clean the boards, which is both likely and unlikely given the tough matchups coming up later this season.
  9. Damn, that's a 29-song setlist. It's been awhile since they've cranked out ones that long...
  10. It also depends what pickups your guitar has. Single-coils tend to break up a little earlier than humbuckers, if my memory serves me correctly.
  11. Andrew Bird. Beirut. Final Fantasy. Menomena.
  12. Vanis pretty much awesome. I'm a fan of And It Stoned Me, but that's just me.
  13. "No one fucks with Pet Sounds!" This list is pure shit. It's their snide way to insult some of the greatest in music.
  14. Psh I think the shoddy pitching performance today deserves the Indians losing today...but I still wouldn't miss Wilco for the Indians...
  15. Don't beat a woman when she's down. SINCE YOU BEEN GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Basically saved me from the clutches of terrible music. the Beatles - A Hard Day's Night/Revolver/Rubber Soul I used to be of the "Beatles are the best, but not my favorite" but fully listening to these albums definitely changed a lot for me. Neil Young - Live in Massey Hall 1971 This opened me to writing legit songs...I only have the bootleg, not the Starbucks-let's-pay-20$ version. the Clash - London Calling I don't think there is a lot to say except that this album is brilliant. Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True At one point after Wilco saved me I used to
  17. Ok, here we go. Kingpin Tab Eric Tseng Slack G - DGDGBD Much of this song revolves around a G-C-G kind of "swing": -0---0 -0-1-0 -0-0-0 -0-2-0 -0-0-0 -0---0 While Tweedy sings you just play G, the G-C-G occurs right after. Every other verse, however, you hear a fill which happens like this: -------------- -0h2h3-2-0---- -------------0 ----------0-2- -------------- -------------- which then goes into the G-C-G deal. After the 1st verse you get this riff: ----------------------- ----------------------- -7-7-6-6h7p6-4-4-4-3-3s0 ----------------------- ----------------------- --------
  18. I could use it too. Today it's "She Loves You"
  19. It is very dud-like... But there is no such thing as a bad Beatles song, just to point it out.
