  1. Not sure what you're confused about. You equated going to church with rape, I took offense. Your post seemed to imply that church goers are all victims (for lack of a better word) of groupthink. I would contend that all of us are subject to that. By comparing church goers with rapists, I assumed that you were putting atheists on a higher plane of thought. 1. Are all non Christians (the majority of the earth) doomed to a life in hell for believing in the wrong god? While many people of faith believe this about their religion, I certainly do not. I'm not even sure what heaven is and
  2. While your point on group dynamics may be valid, to equate going to church (or any place of worship) with rape is grossly offensive. I guess atheists are too enlightened to be subject to the rules of group psychology.
  3. Impossible Germany At Ross' in Bettendorf, IA while eating a "Volcano". Texas toast topped with loose meat, fries, cheese sauce, chili, and onions.
  4. A good read. Challenging, Banks is never fun or easy, but satisfying. Considering Brown was basically a "terrorist", it was interesting seeing the point of view of a terrorist with a truly righteous cause, but a terrorist nevertheless.
  5. Ummm... no. The Steelers are still one of the premier teams in the league, despite today's horrible performance. The Vikings defense is still showing the good effects of his coaching. He is now and will be for years to come one of the great NFL coaches. And one hell of a doctor, too.
  6. MB, the 80s had the most vibrant underground scene of any decade. Also, IMO, Prince's output makes the decade worthwhile too. As far as this decade, the industry changed so much this decade and indie music sounded so different than any other decade that I am still trying to wrap my head around it.
  7. All is well as long as we can get Krusteaz frozen pancakes. If there's a shortage on those, I'm going to have to arm myself.
  8. Holy CRAP! I remember seeing a bit of that w/ KISS. It was my first exposure to them, I was 6 and a bit freaked out.
  9. Glad to see Jeff Gillooly has found work.
  10. Olbermann is smarter than O'Reilly, Beck, and most of 'em. But like most cable news pundits, he cannot tolerate dissent. His guests must tow his line.
  11. I tried to watch that. Couldn't handle it for more than a minute. He really makes me nauseous.
  12. I agree w/ every pick here except I have Atl over Car
  13. One of the only truly blasphemous things posted on this thread.
  14. Fair enough. The cost savings of tort reform may be minimal to non-existent. How do we control costs?
  15. Kevan, how long have you been a Vikings fan? You can't possibly be predicting a Super Bowl win. The other shoe always drops for us. Predictions like this only jinx us!! Favre is 40, he's only half way through the season. Let's keep things in perspective. Were are the pre-2004 Red Sox of the NFL.
  16. Help me out here. How do the current Democratic bills, lower costs? They will extend coverage, which means covering riskier people, which drives up costs. The "public option" will supposedly increase competition, but as coverage expands, will this be all that meaningful? Here are 2 ideas to lower costs: 1) tort reform, 2) ban TV and Internet advertising of prescription drugs. There was a time when prescription drugs could not be advertised on TV. They have hugely expanded the demand for their products through clever marketing.
  17. Pretty typical for rock criticism. This is a bit more eloquent than most.
  18. QFT, bobbob, I would've hated it in 9th grade too. It's a funny, great book.
