Glad to see Jeff Gillooly has found work.

Olbermann is smarter than O'Reilly, Beck, and most of 'em. But like most cable news pundits, he cannot tolerate dissent. His guests must tow his line.

Bob Stinson was a rich man's Bob Stinson? -
I tried to watch that. Couldn't handle it for more than a minute. He really makes me nauseous.

One of the only truly blasphemous things posted on this thread. -
Now I remember why I was an independent all those years.

Fair enough. The cost savings of tort reform may be minimal to non-existent. How do we control costs? -
Kevan, how long have you been a Vikings fan? You can't possibly be predicting a Super Bowl win. The other shoe always drops for us. Predictions like this only jinx us!! Favre is 40, he's only half way through the season. Let's keep things in perspective. Were are the pre-2004 Red Sox of the NFL.

Help me out here. How do the current Democratic bills, lower costs? They will extend coverage, which means covering riskier people, which drives up costs. The "public option" will supposedly increase competition, but as coverage expands, will this be all that meaningful? Here are 2 ideas to lower costs: 1) tort reform, 2) ban TV and Internet advertising of prescription drugs. There was a time when prescription drugs could not be advertised on TV. They have hugely expanded the demand for their products through clever marketing. -
Pretty typical for rock criticism. This is a bit more eloquent than most.

QFT, bobbob, I would've hated it in 9th grade too. It's a funny, great book.

Maybe Scarnella has confused Phish with DMB, or possibly Spin Doctors.

I remember listening to YHF MP3's before it was originally released. I was driving back from a Bob Mould concert in Omaha with a friend. This was on his Modulate (Carnival of Light and Sound) tour that incorporated a lot of electronica. I kept on thinking how much better Wilco incorporated dissonance and electronic sounds than Mould did. I'm pretty sure it was that evening that Mould went from being my favorite to Wilco. BTW, it makes great listening for late night drives.

Your Top Films Of This Decade 2000-2009
uncool2pillow replied to u2roolz's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This decade was really owned by Wes Anderson, Clint Eastwood, and (like the 3 previous decades) Martin Scorcese. I think Eastwood's output (volume & quality) make him the winner. Letters from Iwo Jima, Flags of our Fathers, Million Dollar Baby, Changeling (my favorite of his this decade), and Gran Torino all are great movies. -
Beltmann, I'm curious what exactly do you teach? I think I would love to sit in your classroom. If you're as eloquent in your classroom as you are online, it'd be a treat.

The Metallica set is incredible. Can't imagine what they did w/ Sweet Jane, but can't wait to hear them shred White Light / White Heat. -
Great show on ACL. It aired on my PBS affiliate last night.

Excellent! The kid playing Paul McCartney looks like Frank Whaley did 20 years ago.
