Yeah, it's amazing they didn't just duet with Christina Aguilera. I'm not a huge fan of W(TA), but you are engaging in some serious hyperbole here.

If we are going to have long term stability after the crisis, we need to pay down all the debt we've accrued in the past year (past gazillion years, for that matter). It's going to have to be a very strategic combination of cuts in spending and increases in revenue that DO NOT substantially jeopardize growth. That's going to be tough, because taxes jeopardize growth.

A bit OT, about a month ago we heard Freebird on the radio, so I taught my 4-year-olds that you're supposed to yell for that at concerts between songs. My kids are pumped to put this into practice the next time they go to a concert. I know it's rude, stupid, and juvenile, but I find it amusing.

While the extremists (Palin, Beck, et. al.) are telling lies about health care, the truth is the reform that's been put forward is incredibly expensive. When Obama says that the options are one of the Dems' plans or the status quo, he is giving us a false option. There are many reforms that could pass (tort reform, regulations that prevent insurance companies from canceling policies, etc.), do a lot of good, and not further bankrupt our nation. By dumping the public option, Obama may ensure some other quality reforms can pass.

Passion does not equal obsession. I think I can still be very passionate about music. It's also a quantity/quality thing. If I devote the time to music that I used to, that means less quality time w/ my kids. At least until they're old enough to appreciate it on a different level. I used to decide to drive 3 hours to see a band at the drop of a hat. Can't really do that anymore. Sorry that makes you sad.

So Sage Rosenfels starts for the Vikings tonight, playing against (I assume) the Colts' 1st team defense and puts up a rating of 95.4. Then Tarvaris Jackson comes in, maybe playing against 1st or 2nd team defense and puts up a rating of 53.5. Rosenfels should certainly have the nod for the starting position right now. edit: Jackson was playing mostly w/ 2nd team offense and will probably start the next game w/ the 1st team. Will reserve judgment for now.

I agree a lot with the 1st sentiment in this thread for a couple of reasons: 1) Info. overload. There's so much music available through torrents, iTunes, my convenient public library, etc. that I don't have time to fully absorb it. 2) Becoming a parent. I have tried to expose my kids to a lot of music I like and to kids' music we can all like, so I don't get a chance to listen to really loud, profane, dissonant, or "boring" stuff much anymore. When a new CD that I'm really excited about (Wilco, Old 97s) comes out, I can't listen to it 5 times straight while devouring the liner notes
