  2. This is my band with my best friend Rory. We play around town quite a bit and we are making our first record right now! There is just rough stuff on my myspace right now but anyways. myspace.com/kallemattson I'd love to hear feedback on the couple songs up there. Hope you enjoy!
  3. Have they had openers before on previous tours? They play quite a lengthy set every night.
  4. I got a PS3 last night, it seems as though Blu Ray has won the war.
  5. Yeah I figure they will be playing the ACC in Toronto like they did in 2003 so tickets shouldn't be THAT hard. But I just don't want it to be like the last tour where they were on ebay for ridiculous amounts of cash, but granted also the record just went #1 so I think there will be quite a demand for this tour.
  6. I know tickets for this are going to be impossible so is there anything like the way Wilco does the tickets for Radiohead? Or are we just going to hope for the best with Ticketbastard?
  7. Me and my friends have already made a vow to go see Radiohead in Toronto, so this is good news!
  8. The Stage is the coolest and most versatile. But I swear Mikael uses the Stage,, could be wrong though.
  9. One of the best movies I have ever seen and reading this thread certainly made me understand it and appreciate it more.
  10. 1. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. Wilco Sky Blue Sky 3. Radiohead - Kid A 4. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois 5. Ron Sexsmith - Time Being 6. Arcade Fire - Funeral 7. The White Stripes - Elephant 8. Brian Wilson - Smile 9. Beck - Sea Change 10. Radiohead - In Rainbows I'm not sure how I feel about that list I'll probably change some of those after further consideration.
  11. I thought the Photo Album, Trans and Plans were all really solid albums and I am just listening to them again for the first time in a long long time and I forgot how great they were!
  12. Pleasant surprises. The National - Boxer, VC introduced me to them this year and I'm quite glad that you guys did! Radiohead - In Rainbows, I didn't think they could pull it off again, proved wrong. Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War, I honestly couldn't care about this band until I saw them live, fantastic fantastic. Okkervil River - The Stage Names, again thanks to VC for showing me them, great great album. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago, again VC! Great record. Blitzen Trapper - Wild Mountain Nation, so diverse and I'm surprised this band didn't get signed until recently. The Acorn - Gl
  13. Paste's list IMO is easily the best I have seen, Rolling Stone's is really wacky.
  14. That song is easily my favorite off of the album and a monster live. Pure pop goodnessss.
  15. 1. Green Gloves - The National 2. You Are My Face - Wilco 3. Oh Napoleon - The Acorn 4. The Temptation Of Adam - Josh Ritter 5. The Opposite Of Hallelujah - Jens Lekman 6. White Dove - John Vanderslice I had to add Vanderslice just because he is so underrated.
  16. Pieholden Suite finally? When You Wake Up Feeling Old?
  17. I am going to attempt to make the long trek from the Sault to Chicago, fingers crossed!
  18. The chords are the same as the Rolling Thunder version just capo 1st. Rolling Thunder Revue version (1975) Standard tuning G They sat together in the park Bm As the evening sky grew dark, G7 She looked at him and he felt a spark C /b Am tingle to his bones. C /b Am 'Twas then he felt alone G D C and wished that he'd gone straight G Am G And watched out for a simple twist of fate.
  19. That really was great. The recording of the band at Jeff's cottage seems really awesome to me I'd love to see it.
  20. Maybe input isn't the word I'm looking for. I'm just looking for any suggestions on any similarities or differences in themes, writing style etc. that I haven't thought of yet or to get me gong in the right direction.
  21. Uh length is around 1800 words, and I believe we can compare just about anything between the two novels as long as it's backed by solid evidence, so it's kept pretty broad.
  22. Well for my english class we have to write a comparative essay comparing two novels. I am having a little bit of trouble deciding what two books I should compare and what are some themes I should use. I am huge Vonnegut fan and I was initially thinking in comparing Slaughterhouse Five to Breakfast Of Champions on the topic of free will but have now gone to comparing Slaughterhouse to A Clockwork Orange instead on the topic of free will (we've read A Clockwork Orange in class and this saves some reading time). Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot.
  23. On another note of my trip to Toronto. On the following day I saw Stars with Miracle Fortress opening up. Fantastic show. Miracle Fortress were great and Stars definitely exceeded my expectations by a ton. This was their second show of 4 in Toronto to end their tour, they played 22 songs and they were super super slick. Much more appreciation for them now.
  24. Yeah guys the Acorn are absolutely fantastic. They've played the Sault here twice now and the last time was at the local record store/coffee shop thing where I play alot. 20 people showed up I sat down on the floor right in front of them it was fantastic. As for Miracle Fortress I saw them live last week in Toronto! I saw Neil Young on the Monday and on Tuesday I got tickets to see Stars and Miracle Fortress opened up! They were great and as were Stars. Stars played 22 songs and they were sooooooo slick it was a really good show. Too bad lizish doesn't like them! Also lizish have you heard
