Personally, I would avoid Epi unless it was the Masterbuilt series. Especially the signature models. I think you are paying for name only. My advice is to save up for something with solid wood back/sides. It is true, though. Anything sounds better than an Ovation.

They have TONS of boots on that site. You can spend hours....

Yeah, I stumbled across the Felice Brothers recently, as well (heard the above song on Sirius-XM). Really digging them. I just downloaded Go Bless You Amigo from the website.

Adele's Skyfall Theme Song (naturally)

Thanks to the wonders of the InterWeb, I was able to hear the 03/30/12 version. I have to admit that I really like it! I gotta figure out that little riff that anchors the song. Pretty cool. It would be a nice Bonus Track or something...

Anyone know if there is a solo acoustic and/or early 'slow jam' version of this song? I am curious about its earlier incarnations ...

Thanks for the tips on the settings, G&C. This is exactly what I have done: rolled off the tone knob on guitar and scooped the mids down to about 5 o'clock and the Bass and Treble are at 10 o'clock. This seems to give a tone that is not too bright and jangly. The Mix is the 'wetness' or 'dryness' of signal. I brought this down a little 11 o'clock. Seems right, but I am still have not found my favorite mix on this one yet. It is a Muddy Waters Telecaster. There is a picture in this thread above. It is really comfortable to play (compared to heavy Les Pauls, etc.). I have no co

Saw this one yesterday and I have to say it was awesome. It is quiet, thoughtful, original and multi-layered. A rarity in today's Michael Bay/Transformers universe: Good Hollywood Sci-Fi. Let me point out that I am somewhat biased: * I am an un-ashamed Sci-Fi Nerd who already has four day passes to next years Comic Con in July. So I am a bit of a fan-boy. With that said, I think fan-boys can be the harshest critics. * I especially love Time Travel movies. I think because Back To The Future came out at just the right time in my adolescent development and appreciation of pop culture. * I was

Thanks for the response, GoE, I appreciate it. After some extensive weekend noodling, I think I am honing in on a tone that I like with the help of the OCD. The naked Tele tone came across as a little too thin and jangly to my ears. The OD pedal thickened it, warmed it, and lopped off some of the excessive highs I was hearing. I am having difficulty dialing in the delay pedal to something I like, though. I will try you setting suggestions and let you know. Need to keep noodling. Quick clarification: You mention Feedback and Delay knobs at 7 o'clock. I assume Feedback = Regen? (that is what

I have been an acoustic guitar player for about 10 years now. I have never really 'connected' with the electric guitar as an instrument (after a couple of failed attempts). Not sure, why exactly. Combination of the fact that I am a Living Room Player (electric needs the context of a band, no?) or that I prefer to play with my fingers in lieu of pick (translates to snappy ice-picky notes on electric) or some other unknown cosmic reason. However, I recently bought a Tele and I am trying to challenge myself a little as a musician. Good stuff often comes from challenging yourself. I have been

I just picked these up on vinyl. They sound really great. BTW, after hearing Illinois again all the way through (for the 1st time in a while), I have to say that it is a modern day masterpiece. It deserves to be thought of in the top 10 (5?) records of the 00s, IMHO of course.

There is TON of 'classic rock' stuff I used to love, but now I find tedious, over-played and stale. Eagles, Beatles, Stones, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, ... list goes on. -
Father John Misty - Fear Fun ... (on my short list for record of the year)

My friends and I played a ton of spades. Great game.
