  4. I have never 'connected' with the electric guitar as an instrument. I am obsessed with the acoustic guitar, of course. But after watching Wilco on ACL, Nels sure rips the crap out of that Jazzmaster. Got my GAS juices flowing.... On a related note, I never likes SG's either. The thought of those garish horns made me think of teenagers at Guitar Center hammering out Black Sabbith riffs ad naseum. But Jeff made it look cool, no? Pat's Tele's were neat, too. Love the white w/ RW fingerboard.... How much is Bush giving me in refunds???
  5. I give it to you. This section has never sounded exactly right to my ear either, but I have not found a better alternative. My solution? I cheat. I mute the strings at the D chord (by laying index finger across the nut) then slide into the G. A decent approximation, IMHO. If anyone else has a suggestion, I am all ears (forgive the pun).

  9. My favorite LP's mentioned are Nashville Skyline, Meddle and Animals. I guess it is debateable if these are 'underrated'. Sure, classic rock radio has never played a track from them, but I imagine most music fans with a decent amount of taster will have heard - and appreciated them.
  10. I was thinking of picking up some Wilco vinyl - but I want to pay more in the 10 dollar range for used vinyl. Where is a good place to find it? Anyone have any thoughts?
  11. Another Open D beauty. Chords and riff are deceptively simple. Tough part is getting the 'feel' of the song. For the 'D' Chord, I play it severly muted (although there really is no chord here, just Glen keeping time). But for us Living Room Players, this is not an option. So, I like to lay my index across the nut for this, then slide rock-star style into the G & A chords. Same trick as 'Pot Kettle Black' and 'Cant Stand It' Usual disclaimers apply. Enjoy!   12. I didn't like any Wilco record the first spin - including YHF. But the second spin I started to 'get it'. Third spin - hooked. Fourth time around I was addicted.
