yawn. go buy a product that you like and roll with it. all this attacking is just damn ridiculous. tandy you like the zune? awesome; i'm happy for you. you got a fast pc? great! i will stick with my apple products but will promise not to hit you over the head with them b/c you prefer a different thing. maker, i mean this in all due respect, but you may be my polar opposite. every time i read one of your posts, i can't disagree with it more (95% of the time). but that's cool. and let's not open this can about mp3s vs. flacs or oggs again...we get it.

agreed that the final scene in part i is fine. to the guys that haven't seen it: do yourself a favor and watch it. to whoever said they are purposefully trying to avoid it: stop being so damn prideful and watch a good movie. i don't know of many other movies in which character development is so dynamic (michael/pacino). great, great movie. btw, i hadn't seen this movie until very recently when i received the same gasp from my buddies when i said i hadn't seen it. one of em promptly lent me the dvd box set. i still haven't watched part ii or iii, but i plan on it real soon. after

Nothing like college mascot humor

that was friggen funny. i'm at home alone and laughed out loud several times. good find, crowjack. -
that day should be soon, my friend. you're missing out on some great music.

i'll take em all. i've "found" each wilco album out of sync as far as release dates, and each one occupies it's own special spot in my heart: first yhf, then agib, then st, then am, then bt, then ma1&2, now sbs. i can honestly say, they're all good; i couldn't choose one group over the other. in fact, there are really only two tracks that i routinely skip when they appear: my darling and just that simple. i edited out the drone from ltyt and really like that song as a result, but probably couldn't listen to it every time with the drone. and, as far as groupings go, i don't think

Sir, one more outburst from you and I will strangle you with my microphone wire.

me, i'm a fan of good concept albums for some reason. i like yoshimi and ok comp... what are some other good ones, for those of you who like them?
-
hey now that's actually a "quibble" i agree with. i'm trying not to pay attn. to anyone's "quibbles" with this album lest their opinions start to affect mine. and mine's in favor of everything on this album.

i made good yhf and agib versions like this, so i'd love to help... ...but i converted them to mp3 and then deleted the flacs. i'm interested and'll stay tuned. thanks for doing this.

yes, i like "shake it off." i can't wait to hear it after it evolves live. i wish they'd announce some u.s. dates besides bonnaroo...
-
no wilco? i'm not interested. if linkin park is more "definitive" than wilco, then i must be high.
-
they opened for wilco at the tn theater in knoxville in march last year. they didn't really catch my attn. but i might need to mention that it was my first time seeing wilco. that mighta had something to do with it.
-
i need to listen to the older wilco material. great stuff. thanks for the reminder.

the more i listen, i can't help but like this album. even the ones i thought were "weak" live (on&on&on, either way) are really gaining on me now. what light is still probably my least favorite moment on the album...still good though.

weird. i was just now listening to an uncle tupelo playlist and thought how much i liked the contrast b/w jay and jeff on the same album. this seems like a hit, themaker. i just made this playlist and will give it a try.

i feel ya nonlinear. now, if we can only coax them back from europe sooner!

thanks, you all. great post, mike.

ok. i like sbs. alot. it's different, but i dig it. i am hopeful that the official release will sound sharper b/c the version floating round now is low bit rate. i haven't been around here on the boards that long so my question for all you long-time v.c.ers is this: were past albums like agib or yhf (if vc was around then) as polarizing or picked apart for shallow song writing when they were first released?

how's your divorce going, paul?

you don't think anything will be changed do you?
-
those of you that got the ep, is there anything worth hearing on it? how many songs does it have?
-
who gives a shit. it's a good song. hell, green eggs and ham doesn't go REAL DEEP either, but it's still a fun read.
