  1. hmm. i love that tune. if George Harrison was alive and heard it, he'd be banging his head against the wall, thinking 'why didnt i write this for the Wilburys?'. it's got his voice and guitar all over it and it sounds like Jeff Lynne was a fly on the wall when they recorded/mixed it. i find this album better than TWL, but opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one!

  8. phew, just got home. great show as usual. the setlist above is spot on. some people from here took a pic of it if they want to post it. one thing i noticed was that the songs from Tweedy sound a lot more powerful when done on stage. to me, the album sounds a bit stale, but now they've come alive. spencer sounds a lot more forceful. some funny moments came up. there was jeff hearing a baby crying at one point and that caught him by surprise. also pretty early in the set, jeff noticed a bunch of people in the middle that kept ducking off to the toilet while pushing past everyone else. "do yo

  18. the 78 tour got way better/stronger as the year went on. there'ss a popular bootleg from Charlotte in november of that year which is way better than budokan, and it has really good sound quality
  19. i read that when SL was originally record, they sat around together in a a studio while recording, so all the instruments bled into eachothers microphones, which gave it that muddy sound (which i dont mind). when the 1999 remaster came out, they managed to separate them from eachother. i've also got a soft spot 'we better talk this over'
  20. maybe Jeff should play Monkey Mess to prove them wrong
  21. i once had a setlist snatched out of my hands after the show and the bastard did a runner and refused to give it back. another vc'er that was approached him and he still refused to hand it back. plus he was being a show-off dick throughout the show
