That's a great observation. The "better yet" really lays the ground work for change in feeling.

My understaning is that the credit line "Songs by xxxxx" refered to the guy who wrote the lyrics. I took the liner notes in TWL to mean that Pat helped come up with the words for the bridges, and that all of them helped come up with the music for all the songs.

What, what, what? Did he say "this is for Sarah" or "this is for the girl with the sign"? EIther way, it's pretty cool. I love that song and was so glad to hear it at Merriweather.

Am I supposed to be seeing anyting in the Roadcase section of the official Wilco site? I clicked on it at work and got nothing but a blank screen. I figured that might be becasue of firewalls, etc, but when I tried it at home I got the same blank screen. Is it empty or am I the problem here?

I'm surprised at this comment and you're not the only one who has said the crowd was lame. Where I was sitting (standing), the crowd was on their feet for nearly the entire show. There was some sitting early on in one of the slow songs but for the most part everyone in my entire slice of the pavillion was up and dancing and rocking out.

I'm sure this is at every show and maybe already got discussed, but what's the deal with the hanging owl? For those of you who haven't seen it, behind Jeff on stage there's a small wall hanging that looks like a crocheted owl. The funny thing is, every once in a while, the owl blinks. It doesn't seemed to be timed with the music, it just blinks when it feels like it.

I picked one up at the show and I love it. I also love the fact that Wilco does such cool and unique posters/art for each show. I just wish they would do them in a standard frame size! I spent $25 on the poster but the damn custom frame will probably cost $125 more! There are worse problems to have in life.

I can't believe I'm the first to post, and I didn't even write down the songs. Fantastic show. Very high energy. Crowd standing for 90% of it. The set list was pretty typical of the last few shows, with one major deviation. They brought out Nick Lowe during the encore to play "36 Inches High". Jeff announced him as " the Jesus of cool" and after the song said, "that was pretty damn good for one rehersal" For my money, the song that was the most rockin' besides the last couple encore songs was Standing O. I agree, but I love the Grateful Dead. But to me there's the Grateful Dead and then there's the jam bands and the only similarity is that both play long stretches of instrumental music. To build on to what someone else said, I agree about the "song supporting the jam" vs. the "jam supporting the song".
