  1. Greg Kot 2.5 stars. For a slightly different perspective. LouieB
  2. My experience exactly. Meanwhile it is perfectly okay to discuss all manner of sexual activity here (mostly imagined I guess), but not okay to reminince about how things were a few years back. Interesting. It is almost as if there is no moderating going on at all. All I did was verbalize how fun it was when my daughter was on here and I get accused of looking for attention. (Aren't we all??) Some folks will go to any lengths for attention I guess. LouieB
  3. Once again I fell for Laminated Nap's pathetic need for attention. I appologize to everyone. If someone wants to look for a reason that some of the old timers are gone, this kind of ridiculous internet behavior may be the reason. As in the past, I don't plan to respond to this kind of attack, because all I was doing was waxing nostalgic about an earlier time (which someone else brought up anyway.) Things were more fun around here in the past and it had nothing to do with cliques or in-groups or rapid fire hipster reparte. There were more folks who were simply interested in Wilco, enjo
  4. Wow, really? Get a life. I do believe it isn't the same with out TG and lots of other folks feel the same way. I am not bored with it because of that. I am still here. Many of the folks who came here don't anymore for other reasons. What is boring is you picking on me for nothing. Picky picky picky. LouieB
  5. Hmmm..I didn't say that. So if this is a clique of one, I guess that is me, but considering she left 6 years ago, I am not sure what this is about either. LouieB
  6. When these things occur it reminds everyone of the fragility of life itself. Who would think that two memebers of the E Street band would be gone at this point. None of the members are that old. As corny as it sounds, each day is imporant despite how routine it may be be. Life is just incredibly short really. (Today is Eric Dolphy's birthday, not that this is related.) LouieB
  7. I was on the other board for a bit, but lost my password and never got back on. I believe there may be more than one other board at this point. LouieB
  8. I'm outta here..you coming too A-man? Nearly 20 years on in the life of Wilco it would be pretty unusual if the youthful enthusiasm of its fans was the same as it was years ago. Wilco is now a mature and established band. While I have high hopes for the new album, I am not expecting any surprises. I do hope the new album provides a few raised eyebrows here and there though. LouieB
  9. This is very sad. Saw the obit in the Trib. He will be missed. LouieB
  10. Yes he did. Too bad no one knows who he is anymore. LouieB
  11. In the case of Freewheelin they were covering those songs BEFORE they came out. See Blowin in the Wind cover versions. As for the rest of this discussion...not getting in the middle of any of it.........,,, LouieB
  12. Actually in retrospect it was longer ago than that. TG graduated from college two years ago. She got into VC back during her freshman or sophmore year in high school. The years are moving so fast I can't hardly do the math anymore. LouieB
  13. That would be Tweedys Gurl and she is my daughter which is why I am here. She turned me on to VC after I turned her on to Wilco. She went away to college, but that wasn't why she dropped this. You would have to ask her exactly why she left, but it was not because she lost interest in Wilco. But you are correct about one thing, the place has not been the same since she left five or so years ago. LouieB
  14. It was really fun. The heyday was over five years ago. Sadly most of the folks who were here then are now gone. Some simply lost interest in Wilco, some lost interest in this board. LouieB
  15. This is so fuckin cool!!! LouieB
  16. This new album looks very good. LouieB
  17. I agree with all of that....This is My Country is a pretty devistating song really and pretty current. I particularly agree that he didn't get away with it. LoueiB
  18. And how about Cee-Lo Green having a genuine hit single with Fuck You? LouieB
  19. I donno....Short People caused a pretty big furor and was a big hit single. Randy's recent stuff is pretty pointed too. I don't believe the Redneck song was a single so it didn't get alot of radio play anyway. Isn't he still on a pretty major label? Don't his last comple albums have some fairly critical songs on them. I have them both and they both contain some fairly pointed stuff on them. LouieB
  20. I think folks get away with all kinds of crap all the time. This is a great song. LouieB
  21. Paul Burch is great and hasn't recorded much in recent years I don't think. LouieB
  22. Working at home for a bit. LouieB
