Oh right...sorry to be so lame first thing in the morning..... Yea, that would be worth buying since he helped make the magazine.... LouieB

He's not a band....otherwise...no one is really that important anymore.... LouieB

Yea, agreed.........I love them too....but really....and yea, Wilco is more than just Jeff, but not really....it is his band and really no offence to any band member past or present, but what do any of them really have to say??? It took Bob Dylan about 35 or so years to get a book like that. How many really important interviews has Jeff done over the years. Oh well... LouieB

This would have been a brutal winter to do this again. As I have said I am still tired from last year. I didn't get sick, but it was exhausting, but every fun. I sort of wish Wilco would just leave us with our memories or maybe move this thing to a different time of the year or something. LouieB

Hey we were all stunned that Blago lasted as long as he did. He may make it until the end of his term, then he can be gone for ever... on the other hand, he may not make it the week. We shall see. It is going to be more interesting to see what happens if he does resign and if the IL Dems and our new reform Gov appoint the next senator. There really should be an election, but I doubt the Dems will allow that to happen. LouieB -
Samorama was playing this in Lauries yesterday afternoon. Sounded really good to me..... LouieB

There is really nothing really wrong with RS that isn't wrong with most of the other music mags anyway...one would expect RS to fawn over Dylan and Springsteen...actually I have read plenty of RS, usually when I go into Borders or some bookstore looking for something else. (who is HST??) LouieB

Greg Kot's take in the Trib this AM. LouieB Touch and Go Records shrinking, cuts ties with independent labels By Greg Kot Tribune critic February 19, 2009 Touch and Go Records, a pillar of the Chicago music scene and independent and punk rock music worldwide, said Wednesday that it is shrinking its business, laying off an unspecified number of its two dozen employees and cutting ties with more than 20 independent labels. "The current state of the economy has reached the point where we can no longer afford" to provide manufacturing and distribution services for the independent label

That's three more than I have bought... I am sure Dylan will do lots of blues, it is what he seems to fall back on these days (last couple decades..) LouieB

He has refered to himself as "we" on occasion. If I had somewhere to post my own pics I would but I think that the one found is good enough. Dig all of his "trailblazing" in the back middle panel and the separate accomplishments for himself (on the left) and his wife on the right. This thing is large (not huge), but big enough for for one to step up onto and into the monument for a closer look. Another interesting aspect to this is that the thing sits in a small island at the intersection of a couple roads, so there is really not much grass around it and nowhere for anyone else to get c -

I walked by the Riv last night, when it was cold and starting to snow. Ah the memories. LouieB

We have hardly heard the last of this story. When it hits the front page of the NY Times it is still news and more and more gory details are coming out each day. On a fun note about Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.......(I figured it was time for that Warren Zevon reference..), I was out giving a tour of the south side yesterday and found Burris' tomb; yep that's no bullshit folks, the guy has a tomb ready to roll in a cemetary on the southside of Chicago which is totally engraved with his "accomplishments". Some of you know that, but I went and found the fucker....crazy, batshit crazy -
The answer is maybe....and the answer to the second non-question is yes. LouieB

Is this the EP?? it is from the same "sessions as Emma?? Why the heck didn't it ALL get on one record then and be done with it? (Too many questions??) Not trying to highjack this thread, but really!!! As far as great records that appeal to Wilco listeners that are pretty new, don't discount Nels' Coward, which is really really good. LouieB

Thanks for posting this. I was also going to post this up, but just got on. One of my fondest memories is Louie Belson giving a master class up at Ravinia with some students. The guy was absolutely amazing. These types of musicians are irreplacable. There are flashier drummers on the scene, but few with as unerring a sense of swing and rhythm. LouieB

I was about to post this, so I am glad folks already did. A fantastic article on Neko; lots of interesting stuff. I didn't check the link, but the actual hard copy has great pics too, hope they are on the website. And to think that the last couple big articles in the NYT mag about musicians were about folks who used to hang out at the Hideout. LouieB

Yup....absolutely.....still a great album a couple years on. LouieB

Go is a fun book. So is his novel, The Horn, which is about jazz. I have read Ulysses, but not for a number of years... LouieB
