Not waiting until tonight to plug Rosie's show. If you are home tonight and sitting around, check it out....lots of stuff you won't hear on the radio at 10 PM Central. www.wdbx.com for the stream. LouieB

Yea, I thought so.....all are adults... Since mine are not that old yet I don't know, but I hear around 25 or so. But even then I don't know. Maybe (maybe) if they get married and have kids things change, but I would think until someone has kids, they still are pretty much kids. Then again I do know people who are raising their grandchildren.... LouieB

You got that right. I never tire of relating how I was in Brownsville once in the summer and it was over 90 at 8 AM. That shit ain't for wimps either.... LouieB

Bummer....as always there seem to be too many folks around my age dying.... LouieB

There is really not much demand for Buddy these days. Fifty years is a long time and there hasn't been anything to spark interest in his work of late. With the 50th anniversary coming up this may change. I guess there is a big old concert planned for Clearlake, Iowa. LouieB

It should be noted, as it was on the news last night, that the Obamas kid's school was closed yesterday, but the Washington Public Schools were open. The Obama kids have never gone to public school. It is not unusual for private schools to close up at the drop of a hat even up here in the frozen north, but the public schools, which get money per day from government sources, often stay open if at all possible. Also public schools, particularly large urban districts, take it as their mission to have a place where kids can go, be cared for, and get meals, so that closing is really counter to t

Well 1980s at least.... Sure bands still put out 7 inchers as a one off type of thing without expecting to get radio play, but someone other then me is going to have to tell me if any of these Radiohead singles yielded any of the so called b sides. I don't have time to figure this out at the moment. LouieB

Hey man I KNOW you are close to having grown kids anyway... tell me about it..... LouieB

Did Radiohead actually put out 45s? (I know they didn't put out 78s....) LouieB

How much did you guys end up getting? We missed this one for a change, but it stretched from Texas to the east coast....it was a big one. LouieB

I have to say, this winter has been brutal. Last winter was very long in its own way, lots of cold for many months, but when the snow is this high AND it is cold, it is really difficult. It is a constant topic of conversation here. LouieB

As the parent of more or less grown children, parently doesn't stop when they turn 18, because children never stop making stupid ass decisions.... LouieB

Yea, between the weather and the actual murder rate...... It is brutal here...hence the reason you have to be flinty (or fruity or flirty or...??) LouieB

Just call us flinty....there is ice all over the joint here in Chicago and has been for weeks. Our sidestreets and alleys don't get ploughed and there are mounds of snow which will be there until well into the spring at this rate. So many mornings I just want to stay home, but alas, I have to get out and brave the traffic, etc. Just one week here in this crap would send the average southerner over the edge. LouieB

I hate to sound "elitist", but is flinty really hard to figure out? Flint is a hard and resilient kind of rock and flinty is an adjective based on the rock. Not so tough really... LouieB

We got a couple inches this AM on top of the couple feet we already had and no one flinched. Chicago schools never close unless public transportation is shut down. As for the honeymoon, just listen to shows on either end of the spectrum (Democracy Now on the left and just about anything on the right) and you will know the honeymoon is pretty much over already. Yusef did a lengthy interview with Tavis Smiley a few months back which was really good. The guy seems pretty mellow and willing to come back to music after decades of being away. He has always written tuneful songs and so his new one should be okay. LouieB -

I bought a paperback copy of Rabbitt Run when I was a mere lad and read it and I am sure I didn't really understand a word of it. I suppose it would be worthwhile to read all four books now that I am older. I always enjoyed Updike's articles in the New Yorker as well, particularly the book reviews. LouieB

okay...now THAT is funny.,,..(or else I am easily amused...and not very amused by the whole Tweedy/Farrar thing...) LouieB
