  1. I drove with my friend Chris to the Bay Area and back by way of Minneapolis and back through Colorado when I was much younger in two weeks. LouieB
  2. Great show. I had not seen it. LouieB
  3. Sorry we didn't get to talk sooner. I feel like a dope on that. It was a festive but late night. Mike, the drummer (who actually remembered my name when I talked to him after the set.) was very late so things didn't get started until nearly 11. The usual guitarist was missing, although the guy sitting in did okay. As usual Von and the rhthym section were quite good. I got to talk to Von for a few too at the end of the night. He warmed up pretty fast at the beginning, but he never really caught fire. The singers were also fairly uninspired too. I mean they are never great, but one of th
  4. Let the craziness begin...Roland Burris is a first class LOSER!!! (Strangely the Neil Young song The Loser is playing upstairs.) LouieB
  5. For sure..... I own dozens of records he played on, but strangely not a single one in his own name. LouieB
  6. Looks pretty complete. Even he may not have remembered everything he played on. LouieB

  10. I did...not sure I have CD ROMs but if I do you got it. Otherwise we will connect at another point. Don't worry about Braxton at this point either. To anyone else who is just reading this....this is actually happening...and should be a blast...first round on me. LouieB
  11. I am not so sure Freddie was all that active in recent years, but then again, maybe he was. He sure didn't play Chicago very often. Buddy and BB just keep going and going.... Eartha Kitt got no mention here, so I am mentioning her.... LouieB
  12. Bumpty Bump.... Time to see Von before he is gone. Tomorrow it is. LouieB
  13. Double bummer today.....RIP for Freddie too. LouieB
  14. Bummer....he didn't do much in recent years...he apparently didn't treat Bonnie too well either. (He also paled around with Gram Parsons for a time...) LouieB
  15. Oh really? How do you figure that?? LouieB
  16. I guess it didn't happen. LouieB
  17. Yea, I like the Bad Plus, not your usual piano jazz trio to be sure. They write good original stuff too. LouieB
  18. Merry Christmas... Actually just so there is no misunderstanding; I do understand the RVG series, I mean what the heck, right. I was refering to Mosaic reissuing the complete Blue Note sessions of different artists. I would think that the current owners of Blue Note would be happy to do that (as they have with the RVG thing) rather than let Mosaic do it. LouieB
  19. I would do that. I have relatives in Cleveland.... LouieB
  20. No wonder..... unless you know, there is no way to tell it is the Clash. LouieB
  21. Thanks all for clearing this up for me, that has to be the deal. The song in question is punky sounding, but not totally Clash-like and frankly while watching a movie sometimes it is hard to catch the incidental or background music. When that popped up at the end, I thought...what the fuck? How did I miss a Clash song? Now I know. LouieB
