My three year old rocks out to Pavement, sings along to "Spit on a Stranger." Just the other day, I had 13th Floor Elevators on and she was jamming along kicking her feet to the beat. Also, she loves teh Wilcos, of course! Passing on good musical taste is one of the funnest parts of being a parent. Who knows how she'll fell about this stuff in ten years, but for now I like to believe she's always going to believe that whatever Mom likes must be cool.

I just sold my copy on eBay. I didn't really want to, but I needed the dough. It looked really good...I managed to sneak it open and read one piece. I'll get a new copy next year.

I laughed at the "I fucking love candles!" bit. Chicks really do dig candles. I dig soy candles that smell like baked goods. (For the most part though, I'm nothing like that chick.)

I love that. I kinda wish Christmas was still that way. I may have access to Horehound candy. I know there is a shop near me that used to always carry it. I remember because when I was younger, I used to always giggle and think, "whorehound candy!" I'll check it out when I'm out today and report back.

"Stupid" is a "not nice" word in our house too. I get in trouble for saying that one all of the time when people are acting like "stupid jerks!!!" in traffic.

If I say naughty words in front of my three year old, her response is "Mom! That's not nice! That's a mean word!" This makes me very happy.

I'd be more startled by a kid's use of the term "po-po" then i would be "ass." Are Bone Thugs-N-Harmony making guest appearances on Sesame Street now?

I think our daughters are about the same age (mine was three in September). This is the most exciting Christmas for her yet...she's old enough now to really get the whole thing. She has further enhanced our Christmas tree decorations by adding Garfield shoelaces and one of those plastic lei necklaces just randomly hung on the tree. Christmas + small children = awesomeness!
