i have not heard Listen to the Radio, what unofficial release is that song on? -
i can't remember what show exactly, it was a solo Tweedy show, i think it may have been on at U of I-Champaign. During a quiet song, a quiet break during a song, some jackass yelled out a big YEY!!!, Tweedy momentarily stopped playing and said "that was inappropriate," the crowd cheered. yeah, that jackass ruined the moment. i dont get why jackasses do that.

Smokestack Joe replied to Wild Frank's topic in Someone Else's Song
wow, that is alot of cash. i can't do it. not after the $150 on two wilco shows. its sad because im really digging the Yim Yames Tribute To... EP. i like Jim James in that setting. --- Solace, did you get your End of Amnesia LP reissue? sounds great! -

maybe it is cliche for a RA fan, maybe its a musical cliche, but honestly, ive enjoyed/liked/loved most of what he has put out. albums, individual songs,etc.... the only true song i dont care for is from Demolition, Jesus Dont Touch My Baby, sorry.... -

Cardinalogy for me, is like Rock and Roll. both records seemed to be put out quicker than normal. Cardinalogy was his last effort with Lost Highway, RnR was his effort to appease LH because they didnt prefer LIH. The songwriting seemed hurried so some songs arent delicately crafted or polished as say Cold Roses. But due to his great musicianship, some songs DO really shine and work and motivate. Yes, it is not his best, but there are still worthy tracks on there. -
wow, i was able to get a presale ticket for oct 19th show, this morning at 9am, 23 hours after it opened. crazy.

first off, i knew they wouldnt come to Milwaukee, Madison area, secondly, i figured they would perform on a night i couldnt attend. maybe i can get to that Chicago show. M Ward in the Auditorium would be great! -
Id like to see them back at the Overture in Madison, i missed that show last time and i hear that place is great.
-
i got lucky at the noon presale. reserved seating across arena from stage. probably far away so hopefully they will have a big screen showing close ups. if not, i just let the music sink in anyway.

i love Ryan Adams work and the Cardinals work but it is hard to listen to it now since i lost the love of my life. his music was at the center of our relationship so it is hard to spin Easy Tiger or 29 or Gold. sucks. the records you lose after losing your girl..... -
there seems to always be a one or two songs off albums that never get played in concert. It creates a mystique about the song. I remember collecting Zep bootlegs just to hear songs that they would never play, same thing with Wilco i guess. Those songs will definitely be played in solo format. Maybe performed in the winter months, they seem like more a snowing-cold outside, snug inside sort of songs instead of summery sunny outdoor show songs. thats just me..... ALthough i am quite intrigued by the live performance of Country. I can hear a similar solo by Nels in the song like he does in
-
i hope things turn up for you. I am going through something similar....The record has helped me too, behold the powerful healing of music. One Wing is probably my favorite on the record. Powerful lyrics, imagery, great guitar parts...yes he sings/writes the words that i would like to say but can't....

Im really digging Unlikely Japan, quite different. especially the Robot vocals at the end!

This is sorta old news but each Month Spoon posts a song on their website to listen or download. live tracks or demo versions. Right now they have a demo version of Japanese Cigarette Case. Has anyone downloaded previous songs that they have posted and willing to share? thanks.

NL VOTING: Two Brewers are leading are in All Star votes. Ryan Braun leads all OF with 663,164 votes, and at shortstop, J.J. Hardy (403,269) has a slim lead over the Marlins' Hanley Ramirez (365,746). At every other spot, Brewers are running shotgun. This includes second base, even though Rickie Weeks was lost for the season a week ago with an injury to his left wrist. Bill Hall 3B is second to David Wright..... Brewer fans are stepping up to the polls.

oh no, i was out of town and this is the first thing i read this morning. UGH! jay bennett was one of my all time favorites. jay was amazing to me onstage, i really liked his style. he could be straight out rock-country-picker or experimental. and i even loved his singing voice. his solo albums are still some of my recent favorites. just after the split from wilco he performed solo at a little rock club near my house called the Cactuc Club, small quiet intimate show, i took my camera and got some shots. i mean this show was right after the july 4th last wilco show. he seemed sad but that
