  1. hey BobBob- i gotta tell you, the Marlins are real intriguing this year. I mean, they've been on my radar the two years but this year they seem ready. just a pesky team, lots of young talent, i like the pitching staff, Lindstrom as closer. i have a few of them on fantasy, Lindstrom, Cantu, Ross, Nolasco, Volstad, Bonifacio. I am rooting for them in the East. Good luck to you! Go Fish!
  2. ive been to the Basilica Block Party once before, the summer after Sound of Lies came out, one of the hottest nights to see a Jayhawks show. nearly fell over from heat. Those are some nice bands at the show, the lineups have gotten better since i last went. Good for them. July 10th, i think i can make that show!!! woohoo!

its funny, i dont remember seeing any of this, say, during AM-Being There tours. People were more interested in drinking and smoking dope.
  4. Elvis Presley, The Sun Sessions, is one of the greatest early rock n roll albums. His work with the Million Dollar Quartet is also great. His time with guitarist Scotte Moore can't be beat early 50s.
  5. whenever i think of Wayne Coyne i see bright loud pink colors in my head. must be the Yoshimi cover and psyhodelia music of his.
  6. to me, M. Ward is unlike any other musician out there. there are a lot of bands that sound similar or are doing the same things. M Ward is in his own area. I like his use of Analog Delay in his vocals, guitar, i like the reverb and use of Bigsby bar in his guitar playing, definitely influenced by surf/rockabilly sound but yet he writes folk tunes. I like his unique voice, that definitely separates him from other artists.
  7. ordered End of Amnesia LP (available March 3) from Music Direct, it is on backorder, but looking forward to the sound quality from this record.
  8. "Talk about bumcakes, my girl's got 'em...." No Shank Hall in Milwaukee, too small for them!
  9. Brodeur is the best goalie of his era, and that includes Patrick Roy, he is way better than that guy.
  10. woohoo! see you all both nights in Milwaukee! i kept hitting refresh when the page told me that there was High Level of Trafffic or No Tickets Available in section. Refresh it
  11. right i agree. when i initially read the article, i just wondered if the other two felt "left out" but again, probably not a big deal.
  12. i dont understand the Mexican food comment. We have Mexicans that live here. They make authentic food. We have quality Mexican markets here like El Rey.
  13. i havent been to a Wilco show in IA but id be willing to drive there from here in Milwaukee. Its not a bad drive. ive missed out on a few shows there by Ryan Adams and Wilco but i feel it is in my driving range to go see a show.
  14. yes the vinyl is great looking. looking forward to the re-release of End of Amnesia on vinyl next week.
  15. i understand this is maybe how recording goes but the fact that the whole band sans Nels and Michael recorded the album in New Zealand is strange to me. if they had this creative spurt, why not fly out the the lead guitarist and keyboardist? Overdubs at the Loft, to me, would seem distant to the original recording time and feel. but since RS says it is great, I totally believe it. i just wonder how nels and michael felt about being at original recording. probably not a big deal.
  16. thanks That guy Johnny DeMarco is scary, geeky glasses and Perm haircut in addition to irritating guitar playing facial expressions.
  17. i wouldnt say they have nothing. they still have a good team. everyone knew CC wouldnt stay in milwaukee so im not surprised that our staff doesnt appear "sexy."
  18. no it is not sold out yet, Pabst Theater has a presale tomorrow and then a public sale on friday.
  19. wow, ten o clock on the dot and i cant get a presale ticket for Milwaukee show, wednesday
  20. does anyone own this pedal? played the pedal? reviews, im interested in it.
  21. yeah the Twins always find a way to win and be pesky. I love Ron Gardenhire, i wish he was my manager in Milwaukee. macha penciled in Jeff Suppan as No. 1 starter. oh gawd! life after Sabathia and Sheets is bleak. Suppan is no good.
  22. wow the NPR show is excellent. I love the acoustic versions of Hold Time songs. But the oldies sound great too. M Ward always amazes!
  23. yeah Solace i feel your pain. i have to work the weekend of those midwest shows. cant make a single damn one. i read that March 3rd is the release date of End Of Amnesia on LP.
