  1. anyone wanna talk about the Padres or Mariners rather than the Red Sox/White Sox/Cubs/Yankees? i hear that Ichiro is a good player...
  2. i preorder the new discs and received them already, Omnibus sounds great. slightly different from originals since they re-recorded them. I will listen to Midnight in Mississippi on my drive to work in madison. let you know how it is. probably great
  3. great energy at Miller Park tonight for CC's Brewer debut, he pitched good although giving up an uncharacteristic 5 walks but the fans were loud and excited. CC is happy to be here.
  4. fishing in the morning barbeque-cooking friends/family beer/wine outside baseball
  5. I dont think the Brewers will resign Sabathia or Sheets next year so yes you are renting him for 3 months and yes we gave up some prospects but only a Brewer fan would understand, we havent went for IT since 1982. we acquired Don Sutton late in the season and he put us over the top. that is the last time Milwaukee went for it. It was a big move for the team. And as the rules go, if we lose Sabathia and Sheets to free agency, the Brewers will obtain compensatory picks which means we will get 5 of the first 35 picks in the draft. it all makes sense.
  6. hey thanks for voting for RYAN BRAUN!!!! starting outfielder NL. that is the way it should be. oh yeah CC is a Brewer!
  7. obvious to say the the TB Rays are the story of the year. im really enjoying it. im rooting for them in the AL East.
  8. Hey baseball fans, vote for RYAN BRAUN for the All-Star Game!!! He deserves to start over Fukudome. Better numbers, better player, more deserving. VOTE BRAUN!!
  9. Buerhle pitched a gem last night. thank you for sweeping the Cubs!!!
  10. i like buerhle as a player and a person and i like it that he isnt considered one of the big time pitchers. he hasnt had a super great year since '05 so he is a little off the media radar (outside of chicago maybe). but '01-'05 he was one of the best. yeah i think he can last into his 40s, he has great control and doesnt overthrow. similar to glavine so he has the stones to make it that far. as far as HOF, i think he would need to claim a Cy Young, lead in seasonal wins one or two years, over 250 career wins....who knows? that can still all happen. go buerhle!
  11. nice comparison between buerhle and glavine. are you also trying to say that buerhle could be a hall of famer? i think glavine will be.
  12. wow, where did you get the lite brite first Blue Mountain record? been looking for that one.
  13. wow another Ed Abbey moment today. Im reading Bernd Heinrich's A Year in the Maine Woods and he quotes Edward Abbey. that totals three Ed Abbey signs in less than 48 hours....
  14. weird, i just discovered this guy at the bookstore yesterday and i see this post. i guess some strange force wants me to read Ed Abbey
  15. wow, cant believe i missed this topic. I have DDD degenerative disc disease, had it since i was 18 and i am 29 now. i had an ESI shot. i was sitting on a bed and doctor injected it into my lumbar region and he hit a nerve, pain shoot up my spine. ouch. i laid in a recovery room for an hour. in major pain on the car ride home. i couldnt bend my legs and couldnt sit still or without pain. needless to say, it didnt do much or anything for me. still have pain today. sorry to be graphic just giving my insight. hopefully for you, things work out better.
  16. ewww i am not a woodworker....i have cash though!
  17. i think Braun is my favorite Brewer since Yount, what a player! cool to see the Golden-Horned Unicorn last night, the unassisted triple play, the fourteenth in MLB History! and Cliff Lee continues to pitch out-of-his-mind. wow! Cubs put up 12 runs, they were probably thanking Milwaukee for beating STL 3 out of 4 games.
  18. is jacobs going to be out for awhile? he had these little nagging injuries lately....i like that guy, good player.
  19. uggla with 11 homers, two today, wow, everyone is hitting on that team!
  20. Charlie Wilson's War Hanks was great, Hoffman was great. Great story. great movie.
  21. Wakefield is 41 years young and since he has pitched in 518 games and started 377 games i think this guy could pitch for another 5-7 years since he is a knuckleballer. not much strain on his arm, plus you can put him back in the bullpen at some point. great pitcher
  22. Pujols scoring from second base on an infield grounder to second base to go ahead was amazing. he is great!
