  2. as far as American Brewed beers, drink any beer from Oregon, Denver-Boulder-Fort Collins, Milwaukee-Madison, Cleveland. too me the beer capitals...for example, Oregon-Full Sail Amber, Rogue, Denver-Fort Collins Brewer, Breckenridge Brewery, Boulder Beer Co., Milwaukee-Pabst, Leinekugel-all, Lakefront Brewery-all, Madison-Capital Brewery, Great Dane Brewery, New Glarus, Cleveland-Great Lakes-all but since you are in Chicago, i guess i can recommend Goose Island-good
  3. no not in that order. i had pick 12, 13, 36, 37 Spezza, Kovulchuk, Miller, Briere.....
  4. i am in a keeper fantasy league, first 4 rounds. here are my picks: Kovalchuk, Briere, Spezza, Ryan Miller.....what do you think? i picked 12th, last in first round, first in second round.
  5. i saw (hopefully correctly) that Cam Neely is VP for the Bruins?!?! kick ass, one of my all time favs.
  6. good to hear...i am looking forward to buying this record. I gotta stop over at Atomic Records and pick this one up with Iron & Wine. I have no problem with Nick Drake comparisons. man, i wish he was still around
  7. i read that you buy the vinyl and get a digital download of the album too (for your iPod) this record would sound great on vinyl
  8. it was great to see Sam Beam with a full band performing all the songs from Shepherd's Dog. 8 people on stage, the percussion sounded vibrant and very key to these new songs. the vocals were hushed so they got lost a little in the rhythm section. they added some jams to the new songs, extended jams which seemed appropriate since some of the new songs can go on forever. Leroy Bach played keyboards for the band. It was great to see him on stage again. They played two hours to a accepting Metro crowd. all in all a good show glad i went
  9. i guess it would have been cool if jim james would have sang a song with them....
  10. excited to see Iron and Wine this sunday sept 23 at Metro in Chicago. where is the best place to park? Cubs have a home game at 1pm and Bears play at 7pm that night.... last time i was at metro was for Golden Smog in 1995 and I parked on the Wrigley Grounds, minimal parking.... any place other than the streets? thanks
  11. where did forsberg go? i must have forgot, american media does a good job not talking about hockey so easy to forget it you dont seek it out.
  12. oh yes Phil Kessel is my man, from Madison WI to my team Boston Bruins. wish we still had Thornton (and Bourque and Moog and Neely and Janney!)
  13. madison is a great place, id move there if i could, a second home for me
  14. Well i hope the league has a good year meaning no embarassments, no blemishes, strong competition, lots of scoring but good defense. I dont like to hear sports fans/media rip on the NHL. I will continue to cheer on the Boston Bruins although outlook is dim. Pittsburgh does look strong and Crosby will only get better. Paul kariya in STL will be interesting, i usually travel there to see the Blues every year. Tkachuk is back too, hopefully they will return to the playoffs.
  15. wow, truly jealous, as a longtime fan of wilco i feel shamed i couldnt make the show, but looking forward to the recording!
