  1. i hugged everyone in the room! jumping and shooting! Bears played great though, wow....
  2. YES! way to GO Green Bay Packers! all due respect to the Bears, they never gave up and played hard, but Hell yes! GB in the Super Bowl!!
  3. oh nice, knotgreen! as i respect one's own personal listening habits, it is nice to hear someone change their mind, regardless of the subject. thanks for keeping an open mind. after one listen, i need more time with it, but i think it is great, im excited.
  4. i didnt know there was a lot of bad feelings about Shepherd's Dog. when i heard it i was excited and went and saw a whole band performance at the Metro. It was amazing. lots of layers and really created a vibe/mood, you know the kind of mood when you want to burn incense. ha.
  5. I just finished listening to KEOC for the first listen. I really dig it fine! i like the new musical path Sam Beam has gone. Not a far stretch from Shepherd's Dog but adds in a lot of elements that i think really work. I love the funky keyboards and tenor sax. Yes, he is experimenting with sounds and I'm happy to come along for the ride. If you listening for the early sounds of Sam Beam, you aren't going to hear them on this record.
  6. I can't make the shows anymore and I would like to sell them. I have: (1) ticket for Thursday Jan 27th show Hollywood Town Hall $29 If interested, please email. Thanks, Derrick haakee49@hotmail.com
  7. i can't speak for all fellow Wisconsinites, but I am pretty sure a good percentage of WIers are completely pumped for the NFC Championship game!!! GB vs NYJ in the Bowl.
  8. i think folk music could be hard to really get into. it comes down to guitar, lyrics, vocal, and i think BEAM hits on all those levels. he voice can expand several levels, he can fingerpick and technique the guitar very well, and his lyric/music writing is really exceptional. folk music is boring to some but those who really enjoy it, it is a sort of musical mastery.
  9. i have a version but not the original. mine only has 23 tracks and doesnt contain some of the songs that are on the reissue. Great stuff though. and that article is quite impressive.
  10. yeah Sam Beam is really nailing it the past few years. Saw him in milwaukee a few months ago, solo (and two musicians at times) stunning great stuff. EDIT: Thanks Solace, just checked out the Daytrotter sessions, great as usual.
  11. The Winnebago Man, came out this summer. Hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO05RfHO_4s
  12. ive always wanted a OD pedal, I play a lot of rockabilly so i dont need something like gets crunchy or fuzzy. but something that adds some rip. It is tough to pick one out since i dont limit my play to just rockabilly.
  13. yeah that is too bad about Greinke and what Butler said about him. There is no loyalty in sports anymore....just look at how the whole Jeter/Yankees deal went down. Greinke is a decent pitcher who had one great year. But he should fair well in the NL.
  14. eh, sorry, little late to the conversation. I am Western movie fan, etc...so when I saw Red Dead Redemption, i wanted to get back into the "gaming" world just to play this one game. I bought it saturday and am waiting for Xmas since my girlfriend's son is getting PS3 for xmas. yeah funny i bought my own game for his PS3, but i bought him Black Ops. anyway, been obsessing over this game and can't wait to dive in. Also, im a big zombie fan so Undead Nightmare looks amazing as well. Sorry Mega Man and Mario, Red Dead Redemption may take me over.
  15. Beltman, yes!! Brewers nab Greinke. Brewers making some deals. I read about the possibility of the trade late Saturday night so I wasn't so surprised when it became official Sunday but I'm still absorbing the trade. I think it is a great deal. Greinke has a lot of potential to be a great pitcher in the NL. Does the deal make the Brewers a contender? Reds/Cards will be tough but if the pitching staff does well, new manager/new philosophy, good offense, i think they can make a decent run at it.
  16. analogman-you were right about Inn Town. damn good song, hooked me in right away.
  17. GO UW-Whitewater!!! Looking for another D3 Championship!
  18. ive always played it in Dropped D tuning. Low E string is tuned to D.
  19. damn, preorder order and i dont have the record yet.....patience is getting thin
  20. some of Ryan's best music has never been officially released, most of his fans know that. anyway, yeah that sounded awesome.
