Revive this thread? Loves me some Band.

So I'm going to Bordeaux, France at the end of March for a week to be with my girlfriend who is studying there. Has anyone been there and can recommend some interesting things to do/see? I'm sure she'll know of a bunch of stuff, but I was wondering if anyone on here has any input. My french is pretty limited - I'm taking my second quarter of French in college and I'll be done with it by the time I leave, but I'll by no means by close to fluent. Any tips with customs? Anywho, I've never been to France before (only to England a couple of years ago to see family), so anything I should know would

Woah that showtime, showtime jame is hot. I never watched that video all the way through. The studio electric version of What Sin always reminded me of the Dead covering a Sabbath song or Sabbath covering a Dead song. -

As far as the raunch, I was really digging the Darkbreaker/Elizabethtown sessions vibe. Very groovy to my ears. -

I think I remember reading somewhere that MIA had a couple of songs in the movie, one being the Straight to Hell sampled one. I could be way off base here, but I seem to remember reading that. Anyway, I'm at a loss of words for describing the role that Joe has played in my life and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that his music and character have been great influences. Miss ya Joe.

Hmm...interesting. I love her bass playing.

What was Catherine Popper doing there? Oh wait, is she playing with Norah Jones nowadays?

I tried to get "Merle" to catch on. For example: Boy he was looking pretty Merle the other day. Either nobody I know listens to Merle Haggard or they are sick of my "attempts" at humor.

Let's see here then... specific songs from Pacific Northwest (almost a tongue twister...almost) hmm... How to Fight Loneliness Radio King In A Future Age One by One Please Tell My Brother How's that for a start?

I think the Pacific Northwest DVD stuff is pretty wintery.

Yes it is going to be good to listen to on my walk to and from my final final today.

Agreed on the Anonanimal sentiments. Not even all the way through the song yet and it might be favorite tune of the year. Or at least tied with some Bon Iver goodness. I enjoy The Privateers as well.

I ordered an Uncle Tupelo poster and received an Umphrey's McGee poster. They aren't to be trusted.

Yessss, that's exactly what I was thinking

Dig it Todd. Also I dig that picture with the water fountain.

Yeah I agree that they are similar sounding and that there is definitely vocoder all over the track, it just sounds like auto-tune to me in the beginning. I think it's the way it sometimes warbles that leads me to think that. You can hear the difference between the atuo-tune and the vocoder when the bass vocal melody comes in. I think it's just a combination of the two throughout the song, but to me that totally sounds like auto-tune on the vocals in the beginning.
-
Yeah vocoder, but isn't that auto-tune in the very beginning?
