  1. One of my favorite power pop records of the 90s was the Pooh Sticks "Million Seller." Really great record, too bad it was overlooked by most: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijenqm0wIsE The Pooh Sticks - Let the Good Times Roll Another great guitar pop gem from the 90s was the first record from the Super Friendz. Always loved this song:
  2. Joss pointed me to this thread after my post in the NP thread: Desmond Dekker & The Aces - 007 Shanty Town Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves (Deluxe Edition) I've been spinning these today. The Desmond Dekker is his first record finally reissued on CD. Highly recommend for any rocksteady fans, not a bad track in the bunch. I've had the regular CD release of the Junior Murvin record for ages, broke down and bought this deluxe edtion recently. It's one of my fave reggae records so I couldn't resist. Now if they'd only do a deluxe editon of this great record:
  3. I must have missed that thread, will look for it now. The Desmond Dekker is his first record (released in 1967.) It just got reissued on CD, picked it up the other day at the store . Needless to say it's f***ing awesome!
  4. Desmond Dekker & The Aces - 007 Shanty Town Junior Murvin - Police & Thieves (Deluxe Edition)
  5. I haven't listened to that in a while, nevertheless it's still my favorite Clapton disc. He never seemed to attain the same ammount of passion and spark in his music after this one. I guess having guys like Duane Allman to play off really inspired him. I'm not sure if I'd consider it flawless, but things don't get much better than "Bell Bottom Blues."
  6. I'm so happy this is back, finally! I downloaded the first 2 episodes yesterday, hope to watch them tonight.
  7. Destroyer - Thief (2010 remaster) Sarah Harmer - Oh Little Fire (finally a new one from her. I almost forgot how much I love her.)
  8. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that digs this record. I played the crap out of it when it came out (though there was a time when that was true of all his albums.) I think this might be Prince's most overlooked record when you consider how many gems are on it. p.s. I dig your Billy Sparks avatar
  9. 01. Purple Rain (probably seen the film a dozen times over the years and listened to the record too many times to count) 02. Sign 'o' the Times (this and Purple duke it out for top spot in my books) 03. The Black Album (bought this on vinyl then CD back in the days before it got an official release... still his funkiest record ever) 04. Lovesexy (Always liked this one. Some really innovative arrangements and sequencing on here. One of the best live concert boots I saw of Prince was from this tour.) 05. Around the World in a Day 06. Parade 07. 1999 08. Dirty Mind 09. Graffiti Bridge (there's so
  10. Great job with the music and the interview Todd. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I'd also add Sergio Leone's "Dollars Trilogy/The Man with No Name Trilogy" and Fassbinder's "BRD Trilogy" to the small pile of great trilogies mentioned already.
  12. I don't know about y'all but I'm still loving this show big time. The sense of forebodding watching the Goodman character go about his day in the last episode was palpable. You just knew things weren't going to end up well. The scenes on the ferry and the shot of his car in the empty parking lot at the end was simple, understated and very powerful.
  13. Sex Pistols "E.M.I." Lynyrd Skynyrd "Workin' for MCA" Ohhh ... seven years of hard luck, comin' down on me From the Florida border, yes, up to Nashville Tennessee I worked in every joint you can name, yessuh, every honkytonk Along come Mister Yankee Slicker, sayin' maybe you what I want Want you to sign your contract Want you to sign today Gonna give you lots of money Workin' for MCA Ohhh ... nine thousand dollars, that's all we could win But we smiled at the Yankee Slicker with a big ol' Southern grin They're gonna take me out to California, gonna make me a superstar Just pay me all m
  14. One of the best openers ever as far as I'm concerned: The Who "Baba O'Riley"
  15. I wasn't sure what you were talking about, then I ejected the CD from my player . Cool!
  16. Material Issue - Eleven Supersonic Hit Explosions
  17. It would have been cool to have Cocksucker Blues on the 2nd disc of this reissue. I think the song was writen a year or so earlier so maybe it would be more appropriate for a Sticky Fingers reissue... considering the nature of the lyrics I doubt it will ever get added to any reissue .
