The Divine Comedy - A Secret History

I've only listened to it once so I need a few more listens before I know for sure. First impression, there is some good songs on here, but also lots of filler. It probably would've made a better single disc release. I still harbor some hope that Prince will tap into the creativity that fueled his best work, and release another killer record. This one isn't it, but it does hold some interest for us Prince fans nevertheless.

I didn't mention him as I figured Robert is the one guy everyone has heard about: he is to blues what The Beatles are to pop. There's quite a few other greats that haven't been mentioned yet either.

Good additions Blind Willie is great. There's something about his unconventional voice and songs that work for me.

Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown - If you're looking for some blues with horns, check out this Louisiana bluesman's "Alright Again!" disc. Some good stuff there. If you're looking for more Blues suggestions, here's some favorites of mine: Little Walter Sonny Boy Williamson Blind Willie Johnson Skip James Albert Collins Albert King Muddy Waters Howlin' Wolf Ma Rainey Bessie Smith Etta James (sorta soul/blues I suppose)

I kinda figured it was probably that Prince song as they've covered it in the past (one of my favorite Prince songs.) At least they managed to get a live version of it on the Useless Trinkets collection . That's cool that you got to see the show, it looked like a great one.

Cool! I got a nice riff going with the i and c.

I was watching that DVD a couple of days ago. What was the cover song they preformed during the encore? (on the DVD they had to omit the audio for legal reasons.)

Try some Iron & Wine, or Great Lake Swimmers.

Okay, here's the article (click to enlarge): (I had a few chuckles while reading this.)

My gf picked up the magazine earlier today. If it's the same issue, I'll scan the article and post it here.

I've loved pretty much everything she has released. We definitely need to hear something from her (and Rawlings) soon.
