  1. Nothing dangerous or embarrasing about that! That is some of the best rock and roll of all time.
  2. Is is even possible to say that Keef looks better than this guy does???
  3. you're right, not necessarily outwardly feeling guilty about it, but it's the sort of stuff that makes some folks say, "You like THAT?" Those two Genesis albums were staples of my musical diet when I was younger and working in a deli... I need to pick them up again. I guess he really isn't, I'm just so in love with that album, and sometimes folks say, "You like THAT?" another one for me is that New Radicals album from 7-or-so years back. Enjoy that very much.
  4. ...perhaps you'd once again be kind enough to share? I've been known to be guilty of: Early Madonna (1st 4 albums) those grooves on the 1st album in particular just get to me, and they remind me of my sister Dixie Chicks dunno, just think they're pretty good Various "New Country" singles, particularly those by Jo Dee Messina "Heads Carolina, Tails California" "Lesson in Leavin'" but it's just such a great pop album "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield my wife draws such inspiration from this song... I think it has grown on me simply because of what it means to her.
  5. I have a comment, not a question: the doggone girl is mine.
  6. Been there about 21 or 22 trillion times, Drew. Grew up less than a mile from there. One of the pre-eminent vintage guitar facilities on earth. CF Martin refers people to them when they want work done to their old Martins. So many stories about limos waiting outside and wondering who's in the store (McCartney's been there several times, George Harrison was a regular, and many many other guitar luminaries have made the trip to Staten Island)... they restored Wes Mongomery's Gibson L-5 before it was handed to the Smithsonian or some other similar museum, they've done so much work to McCartney'
  7. I'm usually openly weeping as I walk out of Gruhn's door. Damn you Mega Millions Gods!!!
  8. Don't really know her stuff but my friend Brett has been playing bass with her for about a year now.
  9. I spent 6 days in London about 2 years ago, did nothing but walk the city, and did several tours with London Walks: http://www.walks.com/ Chock full of information, relatively low-key, guides were very informative... I learned so much and enjoyed every minute of it. You get discounts if you purchase tickets for multiple walks. Did the Jack the Ripper walk on a Friday night, the guide was a stand-up comic, and quite funny. The pub walks are great as well... it was a terrific way to find spots to go back to.
  10. Definitely scary. Love how we thought we could just sweep through Iraq and move on, like we were playing Risk or something.
  11. yes. We play the Squealing Pig from time to time, and it's always a joy. Nothing like Spiritus Pizza at 2am.
  12. Jeff's got the sweetest guitars... :swoon Personally, I want that Andy Summers tribute Tele... wish they'd make a relatively affordable version of it with the interesting electronics intact (phase switch, add'l pot for built-in overdrive)
  13. Lots and lots of my friends will be receiving checks for $100,000 each. I'll surprise them with checks at a blowout party that will be headlined by Wilco, Aretha Franklin, & The Police... and everyone gets a lap dance from Shakira.
  14. Not to my knowledge... the leftovers are a'waitin' for lunch, so I'll let you know then.
  15. Totally sounds like they're trying to make up for the fuck-up... but it sounds like John's will be open again any day now. Sucks that they have to deal with a black-eye like that, but their patrons are severely faithful. They had better not shut down any of the places I play at on Bleecker that serve food (Slane/Red Lion)... I'll be pissed. That's my income!!!
  16. the sloppy joes were terrific, with enough left over for lunch tomorrow. Steamed some asparagus too. Cod sounds mighty tempting Kris, and homemade guacamole will always hold a special place for this avocado freak.
  17. Craig says hello, just got off the phone with him, and he says he'll buy you a bubble tea next time you're in NYC.
  18. Nothing fancy, no gourmet ingredients, but it's ground turkey, and it's on whole wheat buns. Enjoy this evening's supper, VCers... unless you ate it already. ps: i haven't started a thread here in months... be gentle with me.
  19. You know full well that goes double-triple-quadruple for me, Maudie. You & your sisters is da BEST!
  20. Put Harang on the White Sox or Yanks or Mets or Bosox, and he's a fantasy MONSTER. (sorry Drew)
