  1. Sounds like you & Al had a regular hoot, Jen... glad everything went flawlessly, and I'm really glad you sucked it up and got on those scary rides. Double the thrill! Welcome home, the best is yet to come.
  2. Thanks so much, guys, it was a fantastic 40th. Patti surprised me with a huge party last weekend (which I thought was a private party gig, talk about pulling the wool over my eyes), lots of extended family there and a boatload of good friends, and one of my favorite bands from NYC played the party... so we danced all night long. Spent much of my actual 40th mowing the lawn up at the Acreage and strolling the streets of Cooperstown with my girl. No murals planned, Jen... congrats and many, many years of wedded bliss to you sweetie! Donna, the cake was marvelous, and the champagne was bliss!
  3. Vinyl arrived yesterday, corners a bit dinged up (but the box wasn't, so I guess they bounce-pass them to each other when preparing shipments), and I promptly threw it into a frame. I'll play it when I get a record player!

  12. I think it was the Eurodisco sensibility and use of synths to create nearly every sound on "I Feel Love" that made them choose it... they could have just as quickly put "Rock the Boat" by Hues Corporation if they wanted to.
  13. That was f'ing hysterical. *smell black rose* "When does your album come out?" *smell black rose again*
  14. twas a grand, mighty place indeed... saw Nels w/Carla there, and Jon Brion (thank you Heidi)
  15. As another person who does a boatload of image manipulation for magazines, I can say with confidence that every single photograph you see in any major magazine has had a minimum of 5 minutes of retouching done to it.
  16. Yes, that was very "One Life to Live"-ish, wasn't it? And the kissing going on at CTU... it's a soap opera now. The shark has been jumped.
  17. rock it, Dave! So glad you're performing as often as you are. The world needs to hear these songs!

  21. Hey Michele, great to see you 'round here... hope you're getting some rest with those little ones running around. My recommendation is that M. Ward LP, Post-War, it's mighty fine. Oh, and that wonderful release by James Hunter, People Gonna Talk. -mart
