Happy birthday! I watched Highlander a couple of weeks ago and thought of you.

The Overture and Riverside are a far cry from a guest appearance at Largo, but I hope to make it to one of these.

Last year's was designed by Sammy Tweedy.

Mobile, New Orleans, and D.C. are also included. Though people have pointed out that Ashes wasn't on those setlists either. There was a guy with a handheld camera in Des Moines, but that was not one of the shows mentioned.

Is it too late to get in on that bet too? There's a press release that mentions April, and has a little more info on the shows to be included. I think that's info we had already from people who attended: Mobile, Nashville, D.C., Tulsa, New Orleans. It mentions show footage interspersed with interviews and everyday footage. Looking forward to it!

Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder. Check it out: http://ashesofamericanmovie.com/

I'd prefer The Rural Juror.

As far as I know the full band has never played it live. I thought there were more solo examples of it being played at private shows by Jeff, but of the 2 listed on Wilcobase, 1/29/05 was not taped. 5/16/03 was taped, and I know various people have copies. Analogman would know if that's in the queue for the Wilco Archive.

Pink Houses by John Mellencamp
Preferred B replied to Head in a Guillotine's topic in Someone Else's Song
I saw him do Pink Houses with Neko Case and T-Bone Burnett at HSBG in 2007. That was something. -
True for the Hotel SnS solo show, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the 2007 and 2008 versions were not covers, but the Wilco song. I'm pretty sure Golden Smog has covered it, though.

Leaving for the airport soon. Side note: how dare there be snow this weekend in D.C.? Have I not had enough snow here?

No. The front area is reserved for people more closely involved with the reasons for the benefit, and are more expensive than $150. $150 was the price listed for the general seating area, on a blog associated with one of the causes. These are the same tickets that, if you wait until next Wednesday as Susan posted, will come down in price to $100 for the general public. The caveat is, as always, these tickets won't be available if everyone involved with the benefit buys them all up before the general sale. It hasn't happened in the past two years. (I am 99% sure this is correct info

Had something like a sense of humor? Have you ever seen Fleet Foxes live?

Sounds pretty romantic. Thanks for the info. Barring a blizzard, sounds like a great weekend.

Thanks, Maudie! I'll have to check out Feathers. Now reading: Believe it or not, it just hit me: Fern Arable. Oh, arable. (Well, I haven't read this since early elementary school.)

Hmm. Whatever the problem is, it may be my fault since you got it from me. I'll follow up.

Going to Chicago....what to do, see, stay, etc.
Preferred B replied to LouieB's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I think a member of Wilco may be playing at someone's home. Thanks for the continuing recommendations, Lou. -
I downloaded it, but I'm kind of afraid to listen. So far the jealousy has only stemmed from second-hand reports and less-than-great-quality video clips.
