I am currently singing "Happy Birthday" by NKOTB just for you. Have a great day!

Have a super happy birthday, Evonne! I hope it won't be too long before I see you again.

She's so awesome that I decided to interview her.

I'm Not There - Soundtrack Revealed?
Preferred B replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
Oh yeah, I thought Jeff had mentioned something about this at the first LR show this year. If memory serves, the song(s?) weren't anything I've heard him/Wilco cover before. Of course, I could be wrong. At any rate, I've been eager to hear this soundtrack - and the movie's gimmick intrigues me. He's got some pretty great actors on board. -
I haven't seen Ryan since '03. I already have a ticket to see him at the Riverside, but I can't pass up the Barrymore. Hmmm, should I sell the Milwaukee ticket or go to both...

The Frames and Andrew Bird are playing at the Hideout Block Party on Saturday, 9/8. Not to mention Mucca Pazza. And Art Brut. And features from the Chicago Short Film Brigade. I'm so freaking pumped. Actually, the last time I saw the Frames was also at the Hideout.

I just saw this. I saw pictures and my first thought was "I know that bridge." Well, knew it. My thoughts and prayers going out to everyone in the Cities - I've been trying to check up on my friends. Unbelievable.

If you're looking for a place to stay not far from Shannon, about five years ago we stayed at Dromoland Castle and that was very fun. It was included as part of a package accomodations deal, though (one night in a castle and then four other nights in B&Bs of your choice in any city) so I don't really know how practical it is.

Here are two views of the seats in the pavilion and a view of the lawn. I scanned them after I stumbled upon a book about Millennium Park at the library. Since it's a public park anyone could probably go out there and take some better quality shots, since the scanner was crappy, but I hadn't seen anything this detailed yet online.

Me too. I agree about the repetitive camping to a degree, though it seems more tedious in retrospect than it did when I was reading the book. I kind of liked that the book took place mostly outside Hogwarts, just because it underscores how much has changed between the first books and this last one. I thought it was fitting that they were back at Hogwarts for the last battle, though. Though it was fun to get the 19 years later glimpse, I mostly wish the epilogue wasn't there. It seems like cheating somehow for J.K. Rowling to tell everyone exactly what happens to these characters in the f

I was at the library today and noticed a big book all about Millennium Park. There are some great photos of the lawn and pavilion, which I'll try to scan perhaps tomorrow. But to answer your question: There's a lot more cool stuff about the acoustics and design, too. Gehry's inspiration was Vermeer's Woman with a Water Jug.

Wow! I also have to add that every time I read the word "Fiendfyre" I feel slightly geekier than I did before.

What insurance do you have? That would be great. I have a CSA membership and am loving it so far. The farm gives recipes each week for the included vegetables, etc.

Hee hee. Admittedly I need to go back and read a bunch of this before I can pretend to have any clear idea of the reasoning behind a lot of stuff that happened at the end of the book. But what do you mean, Voldemort had the Elder Wand when Harry disarmed Draco?

I got reserved tickets. The 10% just sold out very quickly. Many more tickets will be on sale Saturday. (I know it's frustrating.)

The 11:00 is because MusicToday is on Eastern time. Tickets went onsale at 10:00 CST.

I agree that this isn't a ridiculous price for the Wilco show - and it's for charity - but to say that "most bands" charge an average of $85 these days is ridiculous. Your perspective all depends on the shows you regularly see. Also, the best tickets for U2's last tour in the U.S. - which were GA floor tickets - cost $45.

Congratulations!

I'll bet I'm one of the people you were expecting, huh? Sorry! I wouldn't even let myself risk venturing into the non-spoiler thread on here. (In addition to not visiting any news websites for the past week or two, muting the TV at the first mention of Harry Potter, etc.) But I just finished the book, so now it's safe. I'm proud to say that I only read it in the dead of night, and therefore managed to remain a functioning human being this weekend, and nobody ruined anything for me! I enjoyed it very, very, very much. I can't believe this is the end of the series. I mean, I can, but I c

Yes, that was the Pines in Northampton. MTV/VH1 picked a lovely setting to film!

Very nice, thanks for sharing! I also took some photos at this show - not professional quality, of course. From here forward in the stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilamya/795505...57600124776416/

Not that Summerfest. That one just finished. The one being discussed here is affiliated with the Blue Note in Columbia, MO.

I haven't had a chance to read it, but I like that Neil Peart is also prominently featured on the cover.

I thought the days of the Barrymore were long gone when Wilco played the Barrymore last November.
