  1. Maudie's like the FNL fairy. It was nice to meet you, too, Sir S!
  2. If nobody else is going to chime in with any more show details I'll try to do so later when I have some time. For instance, these were on the lawn outside the gates:
  3. Thanks for the updates, Paul! It was nice to see Nels play with Low in Boston; I'm sure Pissing was awesome.
  4. Here was the setlist for tonight's very family-friendly show: Side With The Seeds You Are My Face IATTBYH Kamera Muzzle of Bees Handshake Drugs A Shot in the Arm Impossible Germany Sky Blue Sky Shake It Off Hummingbird War on War Jesus, etc. Walken I'm The Man Who Loves You -------------------------------- The Late Greats Via Chicago Spiders (Kidsmoke) -------------------------------- Hate It Here California Stars Heavy Metal Drummer (It's almost as if Paul typed this up himself!) Beautiful location, and best museum ever. There were a lot of kids up front, and everyone seemed to have
  5. As Maudie pointed out to me, Mike rocked the glasses right off his face during Spiders. It was pretty great.
  6. The show was hot, sweaty, and fan-fucking-tastic; it really was. "Hoodoo Voodoo" was amazing, and at least we heard a bit of the soundcheck version of "Kicking Television" through the doors even if it didn't make the setlist. A great selection of songs all around. I also love the Warsaw, and its neighborhood and its staff.
  7. Whoa. Hi Jasmine!! (Adorable avatar, by the way. )
  8. You're welcome! I was with Sooz, actually, but the person you should really thank is gogo - she was the one who landed those tickets even though she couldn't attend. I'm glad you could use them. epm and omahawilcofan, we must have been right between you in the front. I had a wonderful time, until the fight at least. I guess I'm glad it happened at the end of the night, but it shouldn't have happened at all. Nevertheless, a great show. I loved the new songs I hadn't heard before with the full band - "Sky Blue Sky," "You Are My Face," especially "Hate it Here." And hearing "Kamera" agai
  9. They had an early curfew. At the start of the first encore Jeff announced "we don't have nearly as much time left as we thought we did." This was before any fisticuffs. Not to say that the fight didn't put a bit of a damper on things at the end.
  10. Aww, I would've felt right at home!
  11. 1. No set price; this is an auction, so it depends on who is bidding. Last year I think the shows raised a total of something like $56,000. 2. Again, all of the shows discussed here have been the result of a specific auction at a specific December charity event (Letters to Santa), offered generously by Jeff and Susan for the past three years. None were randomly commissioned. 3) The auction specifies the number of people the show is for. The first year it was 20, the past two years it has been 30. 4) Specific contact details have typically been arranged with the winners at the auction. 5) T
  12. Still on topic, on page 36 - I'm kind of impressed. (I haven't read them all, mind you.)
  13. Five different songs, whoa. I haven't had a chance to check out any of the links, but I just think it's funny that someone is using "The Thanks I Get" to advertise ... well, anything, really. Aside from maybe Hallmark cards or something.
  14. Sorry, really nothing new to report beyond what's been discussed in previous threads. For various reasons we won't be able to torrent a full show like the other two for '07, but it's possible we'll be able to provide some sample songs at some point. Ulf, if that happens, we can send you a PM.
  15. Chicken Burger! That's in Bedford, I think.
  16. I come bearing a lovely photo from one of my cohorts in London: I was only able to catch the last hour or so of the broadcast yesterday, but at least I didn't miss Bill Fay!
  17. Congratulations to the two of you!
  18. Look, I still haven't received my LP preorder either. I chose the cheapest shipping option, because I knew I'd go to Sam's Hideout party and buy the DVD edition anyway when it was released. It does suck that orders take so long to arrive. However! I confess to not having waded through the myriad posts in this thread, so I apologize if this has been brought up already. But I'm pretty sure that when you choose the cheapest shipping option from MusicToday, they tell you it will arrive in 7-10 business days. We are still within that window for orders that shipped on May 11th.
  19. I just noticed that at the bottom of the window it actually says "Welcome, to an exclusive Blue Sky Blue webcast..." Wow.
  20. Oh Lord, for a moment I thought maybe you put up karaoke MP3s.
  21. Cheers, Jesse! Thanks for your work on the DVDs.
  22. I'm not sure I've ever heard any of this guy's work. Does he have something to do with Wilco?
  23. I was actually kind of pissed about that, too. Not pissed about the thread on here, but I thought I was being so clever with Letterman - not watching the monologue and planning not to watch the Michael Imperioli interview, and then Dave went and slipped in some details when reviewing the night's guests. Foiled!! I may indeed be forced to hibernate and just read the final HP book from start to finish. I've gone this long not being spoiled for any of the books - I can't risk it happening with that, too!
