This reminds me of the time Narz ninja'd a preshow thread about the Glono anniversary show, and then showed up.

I'm pretty late to this one. But I think I remember after the full band played it way back in fall of '03, Jeff mentioned that's how he originally wrote the song - but when they recorded it, they replaced that part with horns.

I have "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" on my ipod ready to transfer over to you.

Shut yo mouth! Super happy birthday, Heidi! No whipped cream or strawberry berets at Fred 62 this year, but we'll try to make up for it. This random gang of people wanted me to pass along their birthday wishes as well. Fiona is hoping you won't notice her GIANT HAND.

Well, damn. I read Siddhartha back in high school and I don't remember having any opinion about it at the time. Based on all of your responses, maybe I should give it another go. Though we all did have to do some sort of research project associated with the book, and someone designed an "Eightfold Path" game (think an actual path of posterboard squares laid out on the floor with different "challenges" and such) that we all played. Good times. This was one of the most enjoyable books I read last year: Winner of The Orange Award for New Writers, whatever that may be.

I think the theme of my costume is going to be something like "The entire decade of the 1990s crashed into me." Like the Dave Matthews Band song. Also from the 90s. I have the questionable advantage of living a couple of hours from the house where I grew up, where my parents still live ... and all of my old crap is still there. It's slightly challenging since I was ten years old in 1990, but some hair accessories still totally work. Heh heh. Also, I have 90s party favors for exactly nine people!

Lyrics to this song, that's madness! Everyone can sing it differently; it's great. For the record, here's what I've historically heard differently: She was a corduroy cuttoff girl with everybody looks and her kisses crack blue She kissed crack blue oh she tasted like mountain dew, marachino cherries and she had to go soon, said she had to go soon ah I could only find her open heights surgical twist, electronic tights thats the radio cure, radio cure. Hide cameras in her screamin blinds Candy played people i love to fight splintering minds she could only touch the outside of every bo

Torn jeans and flannel would definitely work. You've just been preparing, Lou. I recently found my Orlando Magic Starter jacket from 1994!

I concur. While I may not currently love it as much as Eggs, it's an excellent record.

I think that's the one froggie posted above.

Happy birthday, Allison!

Whenever I try to watch it only goes for about 1 minute of the supposed 4:55, and then stops and goes back to the start. Hmmm. Actually, it seems to be doing that for anything I try to view. So never mind.

Here's the poster that the Ballroom Marfa people were selling:

Yay! I was out of town when this aired, so I was hoping it would show up. But it looks like the clip gets cut off.

Indeed, it was a great show. Here are a few (very few) pictures I took: http://www.flickr.com/gp/54004146@N00/Vu118c

All the schools were closed today in Madison. Most of southern WI, I assume. It is now -8, and feels like -22.

I will see you guys there. I have to keep remembering that it's early - 7:00.

The Riverside, awesome! I have so far missed M. Ward a total of three times when he's been nearby - the, uh, fourth time may be the charm.

Happy birthday, man.

He's been playing it a lot at all of these shows. (Jesus, Etc.) He also played it in Milwaukee, which will be out for download whenever the VC tracker is back up.

Jeff wrote "Lullaby for Rafters and Beams" awhile ago to be included in the short film Zamboni Man. On this tour, however, it has been showing up on setlists with the title "Sky Blue Sky." Same song, but perhaps it's getting a new title for its official release as a Wilco song.

Sam told me she arm-wrestled your mom last night. I was jealous.

It should be arriving in my mailbox from Netflix today. I've been on something of a documentary kick lately.
