Well, holy f*cking shit. I went straight to this topic from the main page, so I didn't even see the subtitle until a minute later. I assumed it was in Chicago. Also ... OH HOLY SHIT, THE BARRYMORE?
-
I love these pictures. Twins! I need to take some candid shots. Maybe I'll see them this weekend.

Yeaah. I have no idea why what people call this song inspires so much emotion around here anyhow. Besides, it was all explained long ago... http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?s=...st&p=527725 (one of the many fine threads we've had about this song in the past...)

In the film (which I checked out yesterday; thank you Maudie) the actor is singing it. I just didn't know if the soundtrack version was that or something else.
-
Does Jeff sing the version from the movie soundtrack?

I've met Mary, Walrus, insideoutoflove (I think), AND DrNo! Do I win? Anyway, for all. Have a great birthday! Jeff - Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike wanted me to pass on their best wishes as well - oh, and Ralph and Johnny too.

I was going on the assumption that "Sky Blue Sky" is the same as "Lullaby" based on the fact that it includes that phrase. This may not actually be the case. Okay, I'll admit that because I clearly have the maturity of a twelve-year-old boy, I noticed that too. But I wasn't going to say anything!

Looks like perhaps the song from Zamboni Man will be finding a wider audience. I see U2 hiding on the corner of that page.

I booked J.J. Butterstick for a special birthday performance! The other band members will be showing up shortly.

Photos now on the Pabst website. that place

I completely missed your birthday, so Happy Halloween!!

Or so we assume. I also wanted to second all of the remarks about requests last night. People were tossing them out and Jeff honored a ton of them. Acutally, "Box Full of Letters" was played in response to someone's request for "What's the World Got in Store". Jeff was like "How about ..." and then began "Box" instead.

I am super interested! I'll send you a PM right now.

Yes, each of those threads is about an actual show in someone's living room.

Hotel SnS belongs to occasional VC poster Sooz, and is the home of Sooz and Sam(orama) ... as well as their pets. It has earned its name over the years because of their generosity in sharing the place with visiting friends. In 2005, Jeff played the first Letters to Santa charity show at Hotel SnS. It was not recorded. I think there may have been another show or two that year, but Hotel SnS was the only one with a VC presence. In 2006, there were indeed three Letters to Santa charity shows. Here is the thread about the one at Edie's house: http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?showt

Do you really think there will be a bus for this show?
-
With the potential final game of the World Series happening tomorrow night, maybe Jeff will have to play with the game on a monitor in the background?
-
My thoughts will be with you, Allison. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Worked fine on my Mac.

I was dork enough to pause on the setlist when they showed it, and since I had the same reaction to seeing "Hillbilly Drummer Girl" on there, I'm going to assume that was the song.

I have to work tonight through all the streaming action, so this is probably the last time I'll look at this thread. I'll just pick it up at the store in the next couple of days - hope everyone has fun watching, though. This is a really cool move by Wilcoworld. (As usual.)
-
They have also performed Misunderstood with horns.

Exactly! I'm so glad I hadn't listened to any recordings before the shows, because I can't imagine they would do it justice.
