  1. i think even if they had different vocals i'd still not enjoy them.
  2. i delete this off my iphone after two years cause the last few times i listened i just wasn't in it very much. now i wanna hear it again.
  3. matt's voice kind of sales it, yes, but if he had a tenor or something and was still writing good lyrics i don't think it'd be a huge difference.
  4. that is insane. ... ... ... that whole band sucks, not just Axl.
  5. well i got out of my "slump" about a week after this post. i did start writing different types of songs, and kind of realized it was probably very naive to think that the first batch of songs i really ever wrote were going to define me or my (hopeful) career as a musician. so i stepped back, took a few days off of even thinking about it, and started writing new stuff that's kind of different, and i'm using a different technique than i used to. so far so good. thanks for the advice and kind words, guys.
  6. i think Better Times by Beach House would be nice.
  7. nothing to apologize for. i get what you're saying. i like that they just do what they want, whether fans like it or not. i think people will come around to these tunes when we get to hear the full record, if they don't before hand.
  8. the national - high violet, boxer, the virginia ep, alligator
  9. yes to the James Hunter album. Mollena is a great tune.
  10. maybe the songs just aren't to some peoples' liking. nothin wrong with that. Neon Bible was/is amazing.
  11. Suburbs sounds like pre-Funeral AF, in my opinion. a whole lot. like it could be on the Arcade Fire EP.
  12. i merged the tracks into one seamless file for full listening pleasure. enjoy and have a great summer! nothing on here is really groundbreaking...just kind of some stuff i'm listening to lately. hope you like. summer mix 2k10: 1. home - edward sharpe & the magnetic zeroes 2. the swimming song - loudon wainwright III 3. that western skyline - dawes 4. the drying of the lawns - the tallest man on earth 5. loving cup - the rolling stones 6. rococo zephyr - bill callahan 7. jolie louise - daniel lanois 8. human hands - sondre lerche 9. walk in the park - beach house 10. icarus - whit

  14. oh shit i totally forgot i resurrected this thing then left. my bad folks. i'm in the process of making one right now, will have it up in the next few days. it's been pretty hectic around here.
  15. The Wild Hunt by The Tallest Man On Earth is the finest album I have heard from this year. The two mentioned above are right beneath it.
  16. Suburbs sound kinda like pre-Funeral Arcade Fire in a lot of ways. I'm down. i really really really wish they'd redo "Headlights Look Like Diamonds" in the same fashion they did "No Cars Go".
  17. he could sing it in his range. a little thing like pre-puberty isn't going to stop a musical force like the Bieb.
  18. Bieber sings Fake Empire. yes.
  19. i dunno how well the album holds up after a few months with it, but that's definitely one of the strongest songs they have, and that's a great performance.
  20. It - Stephen King. taking forever to read, but enjoying it.
