  1. Just because a reviewer makes a pithy, quotable comment, that doesn’t invalidate the possibility that he was correct. And regardless what any of us may “want” from Wilco, they’re going to give us what they feel right now.
  2. Yes, I’ve been wondering about Darin too. I really liked his contributions and he was a super sweet guy. I’m sorry to see that he hasn’t been in this latest lineup. Also, I believe this is the first ever Solid Sound he has missed.
  3. I have one single seat available for this sold out show. Right orchestra, row Q. If interested, reply and I’ll give you the exact location. I was able to upgrade to a better seat but this is still a very nice seat. Just message me here or email me at Dkyrus@gmail.com, or text to 757-771-9960.
  4. Everyone I know who went to this show was ecstatic about every aspect, including the setlist. It’s a rarity to get to hear the Jeff Tweedy and Tweedy band songs played with a full band. It seems hard to imagine that anyone could have been disappointed!
  5. Oh Lotti, you naughty, naughty girl. Sometimes a knob is .... just a knob.
  6. This interview was conducted at the Loft. It’s from the forthcoming issue with Jeff on the cover. There are lots of interesting nuggets, including Jeff’s somewhat surprising feelings about Summerteeth and what I read as hints of a more rocking album to come after Ode to Joy. It’s a long article. Dig in. https://tapeop.com/interviews/132/jeff-tweedy/
  7. You really might want to subscribe to nugs.net. It’s about $12 a month on a subscription basis but all of the Roadcase recordings are streaming at your fingertips. They do offer a one month free trial if you want to just check it out.
  8. I’ve been wanting to see Wilco at Cain’s Ballroom forever. When the tickets went on sale I just didn’t think I could swing getting from Norfolk (my home) to Tulsa for only one show and so I didn’t buy a ticket, Upon further exploration, it looks like I can find a reasonable flight but of course the show is now sold out. Does anyone have a spare single that they are looking to get rid of? Face value and fees, of course, and I’ll buy you a beer!
  9. I know Donna mentioned this before, but we’re trying to get a bunch of people from Via Chicago and Facebook’s Wilco-related groups together for a photo shoot. Tim, why don’t you come and do the honors? Meet on Saturday morning at 11:00 near wherever the big WILCO letters are set up this year. If you absolutely can’t make it on Saturday morning at 11 come for a make up session on Sunday morning at 10:30, same bat location. If you bought a special Wilco shirt as part of a group solidarity project (there were a couple of options), wear one of those shirts. If not, just wear any Wilco shirt.
  10. I was just chatting with a friend about this today. We agreed that it’s reassuring and inspiring to see our very own bbop grooving out in the audience. It would be understandable for him to be a little blasé by this time, but he’s clearly still feeling it!
  11. And then the complaining about lack of setlist variation/how they’re only playing the new stuff can commence. [Edit: I SWEAR Shug’s post and mine crossed in the mail!]
  12. Not to mention we’re all extremely good looking!
  13. You might want to sign up for the Facebook group Solid Sound Fest 2019. There’s some buying and selling going on over there now.

  15. Darryl/eckythump, as usual, fantastic recap, and visions, I could really feel your enthusiasm. Thank you all so much for the details of the audience interactions. You all are painting some vivid word pictures for the rest of us. Even if they are sometimes cringe-inducing.
  16. Wonderful review, Darryl! Next best thing to being there. Thanks for doing this, and keep it up for the rest of the tour, please! ✍
  17. In for both nights. Left orchestra pretty far back but at least I’m there. There will probably be much better tickets available on Friday but I was too nervous to wait and possibly get shut out entirely.
  18. For anyone wanting info on tickets, accommodations, etc., I’d suggest joining the Facebook group Solid Sound Festival 2019. Unless you just hate Facebook.
  19. Thank you, Paul, for everything you do for the Wilco community. Also, here’s a great piece from the local Champaign-Urbana press: http://www.smilepolitely.com/music/tweedys_performance_does_not_disappoint_but_the_audience_does/
  20. Thank you as always for the setlist and I’m looking forward to your further comments on the show, bbop. (This is written when only the setlist was posted and I know it will be expanded upon later.) This group is so fortunate to have you as our chronicler. I just wanted to jump in with a few personal thoughts about the show. I rode up with friends from Norfolk and Richmond and it was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new, excited fans sitting near us. From our vantage point, at least, this was a really friendly crowd in a well-run venue, and the poster for the show was beautiful—s
  21. I like to think this was just a little bit of karmic payback for Jesse Hamm. His incredible JHamm DVD project started me—and I’m sure many others—off on the road to superfandom. He’s done so much for the Wilco community, I’m sure Jeff was glad to be able to return some of that support.
  22. Also, he played with Eleventh Dream Day, which (I believe) opened for one of the 2014 Winterlude shows.
  23. And here’s a seriously excellent review from someone who has clearly fallen under Jeff’s spell. https://www.bocamag.com/concert-review-jeff-tweedy-at-parker-playhouse/
